Blueprint, Black Album or RD?

Vol 1 is his best album. Out of the list the t/s provided i would pick TBA because it has best balance of lyrics, beats and coheison. I dont know about BP1 anymore. I think I was fed into the hype machine thinking this album was a classic. I was listening to it saturday and it sound kinda dated now. That Nigga Jigga and Hola Hovito only decent songs on the album if you really want to keep it funky. I dont know why niggas even bring up RD. RD is boring as fuck. You mean to tell me yall niggas can stay awake until the end of that album. kudos but RD is weak as fuck to me. Offbeat flowing, cheesy production, generic mafioso stories zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. im about to go make a cup of hot tea thinking about RD and hibernate through the winter. RD=0/5 album. no replay value.

The simple reason i don't think Reasonable Doubt is a classic is cos i can't play it regularly and enjoy it and i can't play it with out skipping atleast 5-6 tracks and it sounds too boring to me

Always got RnB Singers to feature and Write and Perform the Hooks on most his Songs

Very rarley does Hooks and when he does they are bland and just Rapped Hooks real plain

Has Rapped about predominantly selling drugs

Used Production from big name Producers

He is just a Rapper

Except ain't no nigga ( which we both agree is down right terrible!!) the rest of those joints you named I didn't like the beats like that. Politics was cool tho but we talkin about classic shit. The joints I named were pretty much the best ones he had. And we Putting RD songs against fire like Threat, Heart of the City, 99 problems, Lyrical Exercise, Moment of clarity, You don't know, public service Announcement. SMH

Lyrically he was cool but again why dont we just give Canibus some classics if the Lryics are allowed to carry the album and the beats don't matter. D'evil had them good lyrics, decent storyline, good wordplay within the song and a sick ass beat. How come some of them other joints had to have boring beats to them?

Black Album is Jay at his peak as a song writer and artist

Between BP2 and Black album is Jay at his peak imo, too bad he ruined BP2 with so many songs and fillers. The nigga was truly spitting on that album (Hovi Baby, Meet the parents, etc)

I always thought that he def was most consistent during this period!! Just peep the features he was on during this time. I always wondered what woulda happened if he stayed in the game after Black Album w/o taking a 3 year hiatus.

because canibus isn't a good lyricist. he's pretentious and talks about how he can do things that aren't physically possible.

the only jay album with better production is the blueprint, which carried the record a lot more than his lyrics did(save renegade). the production on rd was dope and he had the lyrics to match it. a rapper who gets carried by his lyrical talent > a rapper getting carried by production that he doesn't even make(the blueprint). it's actually humorous that people even compare the 2 albums. rd also has his best performance(can i live).

Reasonable Doubt was dope but, Jay was in his prime on The Blueprint. That record was just beautiful.

Soulful, lush production. Rhymes still dope. Classic songs.

If I had to show a nigga what Hip Hop was, Song Cry would be one of the 10 songs I chose.

Me personally, I loved the production on RD...but that's just me. To each his own.
