I'm torn between Black Album and Blueprint. I'm not a fan of Reasonable Doubt

To me.. Jay was lyrically at his best on RD. I don't think he ever topped it. But Blueprint is the best produced album in his catalogue. Plus it was the real person Jay fans wanted to hear from.

RD hands down. That was the album that displayed Jays true and full ability as a MC. Classic beats, fantastic storytelling, crazy lyrics, metaphors, wordplay. Pre-dumbed-down-Jay.

BP is second, BA third. Both RD and BP shit on BA though.

they all classics in my opinion.. Reasonable Doubt is the best imo because he lyrically at his best and the production flows perfect from song to song..Blueprint is #2 but is probably the best produced hip-hop album I've ever heard, but lyrically he isn't as nice as he was on RD.. Black Album is 3 to me but still a classic...He may be better lyrically on TBA than Blueprint but I prefer soul beats over anything else personally.

Yeah the blueprint production is one of the best ever. It is one of the reasons I liked BE so much. Kanye killed it.

For all the people saying Reasonable dought it takes more than just spitting good to have a classic or else Canibus would have multiple classics. Dope beats are important too and top to bottom the Black album and Blueprint beats kill the shit outta RD' s. For anybody to say any answer other than BluePrint is just asinine and crazy. That album was when he showed the most balance, substance, and each beat had it's own personality. Not one horrible joint on it. Even Black Album had the awful " Change Cloths" or that mighta been a classic instead of a near classic. RD only had Dead Presidents, BK finest, friend or foe, the incredible D 'evils joint which was my fave on RD and can't knock the Husle. Then its time to hit the eject button. Come on yall, what masculine man can enjoys Ain't no nigga? That song ain't for niggas, its a golddigging chick anthem and I don't advocate ho saving and simping! The beat on 22 twos is horrible! Feeling it sucked! RD has way more filler than the other two albums

Followed by The Blueprint 6/10

Then The Black Album 5.5/10

RD = Jay technically at his peak

Black Album is Jay at his peak as a song writer and artist

Between BP2 and Black album is Jay at his peak imo, too bad he ruined BP2 with so many songs and fillers. The nigga was truly spitting on that album (Hovi Baby, Meet the parents, etc)

That's why Jay doesn't have a classic Reasonable Doubt is his closest to a classic but just a good 7/10 Album

Jay Couldn't do what great Rappers do which is have Substance/Emotion/Thought Provoking Lyrics in a lotta his Music he simply just Rapped about selling drugs predominantly his whole career every Album

Relied on Punchlines alot

Couldn't do Hooks so relied on RnB Singers to feature on every Single and most Album Songs
