Heard this earlier today and it still doesn’t justify his support of the policy imo. A stop & frisk policy would not have stopped him from a victim of an attempted carjacking.

Even if one argues the potential benefit of stop & frisk the negatives (disproportionate impact on minorities, the prosecution of minorities for minor offenses and increased level of tension/animosity in the community) far outweigh those benefits.

I’ve been the victim of a robbery at gun point. Although a traumatic experience I don’t think the answer is marshal law or trampling of civil rights. Surprised a male person of color would come to that conclusion.

I hadn't lived in the boroughs since 2003 until I moved back in 2014 (mom moved the fam out to Long Island). Yet still somehow managed to get stopped over a dozen times on the occasions I went out to visit family and friends. I'm talking 2:00 in the afternoon, unmarked vans pulling up to you with 3-4 plain clothes officers jumping out and snatching bags off your back and putting hands in your pockets before you even realize what the fuck is going on.

And I don't even come remotely close to fitting the "mold" for what they'd be looking for other than me being black.
