Birdman Speaks on Possibility of Signing Rick Ross’ Maybach Music

I been downloading a assload of Mixtapes lately, Ashes to Ashes hasn't ran across me. And Wale might've signed to Maybach, but he couldnt sell a single with Lady Gaga on the hook.

Believe it or not, i think Wale nexts album is gonna do pretty well, people get caught up in his initial first week (20K) but fail to realize that album ended up doing around 200k in total. Wale has a pretty good fanbase especially with females, it's a matter of the right singles and releasing his album in a timely manner in regards to when his singles drops. No reason why dude can't do 300 K!

PS he needs to stop wasting good tracks on mixtapes too. More about nothing is album quality!!!!!!!!!

I don't understand why Ross would go through another rapper label, why not just go straigh to a major and cut out a middle man. If sign to CMR or Roc Nation, not only are they gonna eat but also Universal, Live Nation, and Sony.

I think just do to the notoriaty you get attaching yourself to "famous" rappers label. Like Em signing to aftermath was a better look than saying he signed to interscope. Eventhough interscope eats off him anyways. Or they could be attached just for distribution.

Honestly, if i was an executive at a music label i wouldn't fuck with maybach , I don't think i would be able to turn a profit off them they would need a lot of work.

can anybody explain why there is so many folks courting Rick Ross Maybach music so much? I get that Ross is on point and putting out great music. But the dude is just a gold artist. Wale barely got to 200,000. The rest of maybach is a complete questionmark? No hate just from a business standpoint I don't see the big deal.

I think people see that he killed it this summer eventhough it didnt translate to sales, but he certainly has marketabilty. And hes whos "hot" right now. So maybe they think he can build something.

On top of that he doesnt have to be developed like a regular off the street would have to be. He at least has 500k fans

dude Millz alright i really haven't heard enough of him. I fuck with Wale but them CCC's dudes are terrible. I just don't see the huge profit Baby will get unless he's getting part of his show money and appearances.

True i guess 500,000 these days put you on the 2nd tier of guys. the list of platinum artists is real slm, but it's nto like a lot fo folks are even making it to gold. so Ross does deserve credit for that. But it would seems that if he sales are that great then the label is gonna want a cut of his shows and appearances. At that point it seems Ross should become his own Boss and get a distribution deal with the label himself instead of signing up under Baby or whoever. .

FYI. Rick Ross is still signed to Def Jam. This is for his label Maybach Music Group, which was formerly signed to Def Jam. Yall getting things confused. Like when people say Wayne is on Young Money. No, Wayne is on Cash Money and Young Money is his label.

Signing wit CMB would be the dumbest backwardest move he could make. Why sign wit them when he could sign wit Universal or Warner and be on the same level as CMB in a couple yrs. I think Universal would be the better move.
