idk why bill gates saying nobody knows how the universe started is significant to anything...woopdy doo nobody knows what happened a trillion years ago.

ok....and? are we supposed to?

EDIT: read back through the thread....once again god/religion is used to fill in the blanks of shit we don't know yet. not very convincing but whatever.

A book written on tablets/scrolls in Aramaic and retranslated to Latin etc. across millenniums and not subject to fabrication or errors? Some laws written for a group of civilization and i should accept as is? ok

So is the Bible infallible or nah?

Yes.

If that's the case, how do you explain books that the Catholic Church purposely left out the bible?

The Pseudepigrapha weren't inspiried writings, thus the reason why they were never cannonized.

The book of Enoch

The book of Adam and Eve

The Gospel of Judas

The book that Matthew, Mark, and Luke got their information from

There are more. How do you know these books were not inspired writing?

The Bible wasn't written by God himself, it was written by man. Whether it's true or not, it doesn't matter. Early man saw the moon as a source of light, because it does light up the earth during a clear sky without city lights.

Why would early man not distinguish between the sun and the stars? The Sun was our source of all light, stars in the sky were not.

This fool wants humans thousands of years ago to have degrees in physics and astronomy. The Bible was written by man, not God.

Thanks for walking into that. Since the Bible was written by man and God had no part in its authorship, even by divine intervention as some Christians claim, it is subject to error and since it is subject to error, it can be concluded that the whole concept of a creator is false.

That's not accurate. If you were to write a biography on Malcolm X, does the fact that you are not Malcolm X make his existence that much more false?

The Bible has its errors, but it also has great messages to it, and that was the point. I'm not religious, but I do believe in God. Exactly how does the bible being subject to error make a concept of a divine deity false?

That's all we needed.

But the infallibility of the Bible means that there is a chance that the concept of a personal creator god is false. Since that concept is highly unlikely and does not line up with our daily experience, it is safe to assume that ancient man also got that wrong when pondering the universe.

How does the bible being subject to error negate the existence of god?

I just told you.

1. The bible is subject to error.

2. The bible says there is a god and that god is the creator.

3. The bible could be wrong about there being a god.

I think you take genesis way too literal

Genesis is actually a metaphor but Christians and (maybe) yourself take it too literal. So I base my arguments on the literal interpretation.

So we just gonna move one of the most important discoveries ever found in science but keep the opinion of a man that isn't even in any particular field of science to offer a valid opinion on the subject regardless of his wealth and intelligence in other non related areas. Interesting.

Your soul hurting huh? Jesus loves you my friend. Will you open up your heart to Him today?

Your questions have already been answered. Go back and re-read this thread. You hitting that cheeba? Your Short term memory is shot bruh, bruh.

Unless you edited one of your posts, there was never an explanation for either of those that made sense.

"If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how can you believe if I tell you heavenly things?" John 3:12

Maybe if I actually qoute scripture, the truth will start ringing through your head. Good grief.

yeah, I read that but that doesn't actually answer anything I've put forward..

Your naming the books of the pseudepigrapha. Google the word, "pseudepigrapha" and it will give you a wealth of information on why the books were not cannonized.

You're too much man. You are assuming that people don't believe earthly things as if you aren't offering your opinion on these things based on faith rather then fact. You are coming to your own conclusion based on erroneous theories of why those earthly things are linked to heavenly things. Then you use the same debunked information that is always passed off as truthful yet metaphorical when properly challenged. You are literally throwing shit at walls hoping for it to stick which is why you cherry pick these random events to prove your version of potential events.

Genesis means beginnings. Thus it gives us the origins of how everthing came to be. That is why if you can accept Genesis 1:1, "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth", everything else that follows is easy to accept. Amen.

Will you come to Him today my friend?

He doesn't like facts thrown his way but enjoys throwing us gospels as facts based on faith

I know what it means, but the author is not the issue. The issue is the Catholic Church banned these books because it went against everything they taught. To control a population is the ultimate reward.

I'm not offering my opinion on anything. I'm dealing with facts. Facts that have been revealed in the Holy Scriptures by the source of ALL truth, the LORD Jesus Christ.

Once you know the truth, it will set you free. Here, let Jesus tell you Himself.
