Big Sean has fans who have been following him for sometime now. Maybe he won't blow up to be a superstar, but he has set a fan base that will keep him around. Def Jam forced him to create a buzz, and now he has the Finally Famous movement. He didn't come out of no where with a hot song.
Them Rockstar song niggas on the other hand had that one song to feed off of. They had no established fan base (or none anywhere near as huge as Big Sean's following). They weren't building a following for two or three years. If they never made that song we wouldn't know who they were.
Therefore you made a bad point by including them as your example.

DayDay34;2658086 said:at the end of the day big sean is here to stay like it or not. def jam already said he is the number 1 priority of them. his fanbase is loyal. type in his name on youtube and look at his concerts and get back at me. yall really think kanye' gonna let him flop? yall forget that kanye has his hand on this album too. we will see on the june 28th though. j cole has no personality whatsoever. that why he will never a star in this game. can he make hits? can he make bangers? so now yall saying big sean ain't lyrical lol. listen to all his mixtapes and than say that with a straight face.
