Big Sean "Hall of Fame" Official Album Thread (8.27)

When did Big Sean ever have a lane? What is his lane? Cause whatever it is, theres a 99% chance someone is doing the same thing and better.

The thing with Big Sean is he doesn't have that true fan base/ demo to cater to.

Cole and Kendrick got the college crowd on lock while you have Wale who has a huge female following.

Then there is Drake who has white people and females locked up.

So it's like who is he catering to? The streets, the clubs college kids who?

He just hasn't been able to find that niche yet imo.

Don't care about DEHH's opinion on HOF. They have hated every project Sean has put out. I mean these are the same people that think Logic is one of the best rappers .

DetroitBoi will dismiss that Dead End review...he only uses their opinions when it's convenient for him..like when he posted their review of Born Sinner.

What did I say lol

They were already J.Cole fans tho. That's why I took their opinions serious because they were speaking from a fan's point of view. These the same niggas that said "Detroit" mixtape was garbage. You think I'm going to take their opinions when they said "MILF" is the best song on the album? Than they got the nerve to say this HOF album is just like FF smh. And on top that they said Sean had no substance on the album. These niggas went into the interview planning to trash it just so they could cater to their fanbase. It is what it is.

Commercial audiences in general. Like you expressed, he doesn't have a specific audience. His content is mostly "mama I made it" and over the top braggadocio, that doesn't really grabbed anyone in particular but it has its place.

*trys to use dehh review of born sinner to make his opinion count*

*the same guys give hof a even worse review and then says their opinions don't mean anything*

Just ban urself @detroitboi. Your L is becoming even more embarrassing.

I was laughing at dude's "does it bump in the whip?" comment when the other dude was like "yo I like MILF"

and also their sean impersonations were funny as fuck

lol @ the wiz stan in here goin so hard on big sean, i think niggas reachin a lil bit sayin sean aint got no lane, and yes the album was real average, but not horrible at all, i agree that he shoulda capitalized on the buzz from the features and detroit mixtape, and kanye shoulda let him keep clique, he would dropped when he had that momentum, he'd be str8

and can u really consider finally famous a flop like that? i mean in a time where few rappers go gold, at least it sold nearly 400k and had some hits, when my last came out i aint even expect it to do that good

This ain't kanye's fault this ain't def jams fault the nigga who pushed back the album was the man on the cover. This 2013 not 1993. We have the internet, we have twitter, there was articles on major hip hop sites about how sean feat he was one of the best then said "hall of fame in stores". Its not like 1 more commercial woulda got thousands of people from under a rock go buy the album hip hop fans knew where to buy this album if they wanted it.

People were telling me guap was a hit for months well apparently it wasn't cause it didn't get him anywhere. Not to mention control brought light to big sean a few weeks before the album in one of the biggest stories of the summer. Even if beware blows up people will only pay 99 cents for that single they aren't dropping $10 on this album. Its a better album than FF but big sean failed to make an actual fanbase over 70K connect to his message and buy the album.

I mean really though...Sales ain't important, but they're just indicative of his lack of progress...Him and Wiz got they fan bases and they gon make they money but they aren't progressing...Wale, Cole, Kendrick, Drake, Mac Miller are doin what they doin for a reason...It's like these two niggas just happy bein stagnant...
