We were born & raised in the south. That soul was automatically indoctrinated in us since birth

JCole is cool with me too but Krit is more soul than him.

I haven't heard the J cole and Wale albums, but I'm not getting the Kendrick comparison. K Dot was not going for the soulful sound that KRIT brought with this album. Seems like and Apples vs Oranges comparison to me.

I been handling business for the last 6 hours since I got off work and I done repeated this album fiddy sum times (lol). This shit flames! The best part of this album is the fact that I only see one skippable track out of twenty fuckin two.... the weekend interlude.....A damn skit that's a lil too ignorant and loud for my taste, lol.

This album is incredible.

And I'll smack the shit outta anyone hatin on mixed messages. A quick 2 piece. Shit jammin.

This KRIT best album imo.

Think I might like his introspection better than his ignorant shit and I LOVE ignorance lol.

He has a way of saying shit that's relatable but equally profound. Its not a lot of artists who have mastered being that subtle yet impactful and that's what being lyrical is all about to me.

Idgaf about how many big words you can put together or how fast you can say it. What are you really saying? Can you reach somebody with your words?

I ain't promoting no violence but people out here been wilding/

So much so you can get gunned down for just being happy and smiling

God on my line after all but I didn't pick up when He called

Matter I didn't pick up at all cuz my bills paid now

Said grace now lights is still on why would i pray now?

That is some real shit!

And this is what some people miss when discussing lyricism. Krit actually spoke on this in an interview he did a couple days ago. He can do all the punchlines and metaphors. That's why he made Mt. Olympus...but can you actually make people feel your music? Take the words in and have it mean something? That's an often underrated part of judging somebody's lyrical ability
