even though i was a big eazy/nwa/cube fan, i was east coast biased then. from the east coast it was pure hate i aint even gon lie. niggas was mad at eazy and nwa success. then quik, mc eiht, the whole west coast industry bum rush was happening and the east was catching feelings. tim made that song and niggas liked it cause we had our nose in the air mad at the west for taking our shine smh. all the good music that came out of other regions taught me not to think like that (snoop geto boyz 8 ball mjg outkast etc), some niggas never outgrow that thinking unfortunately

I always wondered how hip hop would be if NY embraced different regions from the begginning instead of dissing every region

it would've been even more diverse. but ny wouldn't have done it, they was too critical for that from day one. part of it is they originated most of the shit in rap, that makes you arrogant (rightfully so to a degree). still, a lot of them always been closeminded. hell the bx used to dis all the other boroughs before records, and they in the same city. its just how they are, too competitive for they own good sometimes.
