You've always seemed to take a hard stance against marijuana/drug use, but are there any scenarios where you would find it acceptable, or at least not view it with contempt?

Here are two specific areas I am curious about:

As a medical professional, would you be alright with marijuana treatment (strictly use, not abuse) becoming 'the norm' for serious ailments? What about far less severe afflictions down the road?

What are your feelings on the consumption of marijuana and other natural 'psychedelic' substances (peyote, mescaline, etc.) being used for cultural and/or spiritual purposes?

Would you be OK with a someone who was new to a particular "spiritual path" experimenting (for lack of a better word) with these substances if their intentions were pure?

(Save anything drastic i.e.- you found out you had a medical condition that would cause complications if you waited.)

I do not believe in, nor adhere to, gender roles. My gender does not determine how I function in a relationship. I base my answer on the fact that women and men should not be constrained by gender-policing social policy. Thus, a Black woman's "role" (goodness, I hate this word in regards to relationships) may be a number of things or a combination thereof: breadwinner, head of household, caretaker, parent, etc.

I've always been against recreational drug usage. I hate it and am probably the most anti-recDrug girl you will ever know. The sight of it disgusts me, but the true affront is the odor. It literally irritates my respiratory system. Truly sickening.

I get the whole "medical Marijuana" thing, but people have already abused that to hell. It should be strictly regulated and given to those in severe need. I don't believe that would even need to be a norm.

So I'll never really like the stuff. I try not to let my disdain prevent me from loving someone who chooses to smoke weed. Just sad that they chose that route and I always voice my hope that they give it up 100%.

As for the second part of your question, I don't care which culture or spiritual belief you belong to, smoking is never a necessity. So I'm against that altogether. One's intentions are never pure if they're consciously and willingly inhaling smoke. Self-harm does not come from a pure place.

I worked hard to be where I'm at today, so I'm not fully compromising any of my career objectives. However, I'm not so wholly busy that balancing love and work would make my life go away. I always make time for loved ones. I don't want a child until I'm closer to thirty. Wouldn't even entertain the thought of having one before the age of 26. It would also hinge upon what my mate wanted. Yes, I'd be willing to have a child earlier if, as you said, medical reasons dictated legitimate need.

Hmm, can't categorize sex workers as one and the same. Some do it as a means to an end, others because it thrilling, etc. It's definitely a newer freedom that wasn't widely allowed in days of old. -I wouldn't suggest submerging your new dreads in water until they're fully kinked up and loc'd. The ugly/awkward length stage is unavoidable (well, unless you've already got 20 inches of hair or something, LOL). I'd say the stage lasts about a year-year and a half. Dreads begin to look fuller and less noobish when they get some hang time (length!). When a fully pulled back ponytail can be achieved, dreads achieve that "settled in" look. I hope you go for it! Your hair would like nice loc'd up. If I ever have a son, I'm loc'ing his hair ^_^

Not really. And, yes, I agree that most people (mainly men) cannot conceptualize that some women aim to reach more heights than that of an elevated hospital birthing bed. Frankly, it frightens them, which is sad that they feel uncomfortable in the presence of a woman with lofty ambitions. The men who want a submissive stepford wife/gf know not to even breathe in my direction. I am not a thing to be handled or controlled. Shit, even just by posting with me on a forum, one can easily conclude that I am willful, headstrong, and wholly autonomous. Men who like me are alphas who don't feel threatened by an equally powerful woman. Like attracts like in my case......
