Only a few movies im interested in seeing. and they are zhang yimou's a simple noodle story because its a remake of blood simple one of my favorite movies. and also the movies by gus van sant, darren aronofsky, edgar wright, alejandro gonzalez, mike leigh, wlliam monahan, and wong kar wai. all of who i consider to be directors today with any kind of talent

not sure how i feel about the coens adapting true grit though. i wouldve like to have seen them come up with a more original script like they previously did in a serious man as they are also one of my favorites. i dont know well have to see

Are you Jewish cause I had a hard time understanding the dark humor in that film.

Lol, im a full blooded n!gger and not jewish in the slightest sense. in fact, i actually learned alot of jewish terms from that movie that i previously had no knowledge of like goys. The dark humour is what i actually loved about the movie as i consider dark comedy it to be my favorite out of all other comedy subgenres and u dont have to be jewish to enjoy that. i actually thought it was one of their better films. i put it up there right underneath or at least alongside the man who wasnt there.

alot of people and so called "coens fans" complained about the off beat ending and how the opening scene tied in with the rest of the movie. but what they dont understand is this has to do a little with being an upadated story on the book of jobs. but more importantly, the beginning and ending tie in with the themes of absurdism and the schrodinger's cat paradox. a formula that the lead character larry tried to demonstrate to his physics class. google them or look the terms up if u dont know what they mean

Yeah I'm also a big fan of the Coens but that movie was just too offbeat for me. But I don't mind cause they clearly made that movie for a specific audience. I can't wait till they come out with the sequel to Barton Fink.
