You can't name 5 rappers that can craft better verses than Andre. It has nothing to do with Big Boi. It has everything to do with how great Dre is. If he never drops a solo, he would still be top 5 based on how epic his work with Outkast was. And I think its pretty lame to imply that you cant evaluate Andre individually just because he was in a group. Thats like sayin you cant judge John Lennon as a great individual artist cuz he was member of the Beatles.

John Lennon would still be John Lennon with or without his solo work. His greatest success, by far really, can be attributed to what he accomplished with the Beatles. His solo success could be considered marginal by comparison. Point being, John Lennon would be considered one of music's greatest artists even without his solo work by virtue of the significance of his group accomplishments. That doesnt diminish the roles of the other members, its just a testament to his talent. Same could be said of Andre. He can be considered great based purely off of his work with Outkast. It was just that good

He been in the game for what, 17 years? Elite rappers recognize him as such. Scarface recognized him as the best to come out the south. He has 3 classics under his belt. In terms of technical skills there's really no one better than him (as good, Ill give a couple artists that). He's more creative than damn near anybody that's picked up a mic. He's one of the most versatile artists hip hop has ever seen. And even with all that, people wanna knock him cuz he was in a group. I mean, niggas still look for a Dre feature whenever they can get one. Drake, Chris Brown, whoever...Who's askin for a Big Boi feature nowadays? I mean come on
