Am I wrong to think that KRIT will have a better career than Kendrick in the long term?

I like LFTU it's just not up to par with his other projects.

And like some one said that album didn't make him anymore fans I don't think it was just solid.

that was part of the problem....it was just solid and it kind of seemed all over the place.....you cant drop 4eva NA Day....then drop LFTU three months later.....He could've easily swaped out at least 5 songs from the album for some of his Mixtape songs......I really think if Return of 4eva would've been his debut.....people would have a different feeling about him. He might not sell a lot.....but he has to be on point with how Cadillactica sounds.....I dont think you can put out two so/so albums in a row and expect people to back you.....if not commercial he at least needs critical acclaim with this next album......I think he universaly let every down who thought he was the next out of the south lol....

another issue I think he has.....he samples a lot....I'm willing to bet a lot of those songs that could've been singles were just Mixtape songs for a reason....

Nothing wrong with Curren$y career though. Dude been on 14 years and people still get hype when he drops material.

I'm constantly baffled at how KRIT managed to drop the ball with LFTU.

Of all the projects he made he managed to fuck up his debut album, if you weren't a fan it really didn't make you one. This isn't to say LFTU is garbage or anything just not up to the standards he had already set.

C/s

K.R.I.T. is talented I just think K. Dot has more mass appeal at the moment due to where he's from & who he's with. But I don't think that makes Krit's ceiling any lower, he's a dope producer, his content speaks for itself and I mean y'all talking about cosigns he's worked with Ross, Bun B, Juicy J, Ludacris and Boosie plus gotten love from Nas? Who else y'all want? Michelle Obama?

KRIT has had a ton of good co-signs and is killing his features, other than the radio not playing his shit I can't see why he not a star.

That nigga don't make no music as poignant as the masterpiece that is gkmc

gkmc is good work, but ill take krit was here, return of 4 eva and king remembered in time over it, dont act like a body of work cant be better than another just because one says mixtape and the other says album

and im tryna figure out why artist A, B, C, D, and E can slide making similar music and not changing up much, but why niggas cant let artist Big K.R.I.T. make it, yall act like niggas mixtapes aint diverse at all, u can get songs ranging from "the vent" to "temptation", krit just consistent with his music, while niggas inconsistent with the nitpicking lol

I'm a fan of KRIT but here's the reality

He's really not that well known....at all. Even people on here from the South say people don't bump him like that. He doesn't do many features or even produce for other artists much so that doesn't help him. He's tryna fix that y touring with Macklemore but we'll see if he gains any more fans from that.

Obviously, his music is not radio friendly, it doesn't sound like anything on the radio right now, look at Swimming Pools. even though it had a anti-drinking message it used a popular producer (T-Minus) and disguised the message to fit in..then Kendrick was able to put out his message. Anothing thing that limits his popularity is making 5 records that sound the same. most of the songs on his mixtape and album could be switched around with no problems

and the big thing for me is his music is really country. most people can't relate to that and its not "cool"

I guess that makes sense. He gaining a pretty good rep among the people that have been listening though.

I remember when I was trying to put cats on J. Cole right after I first heard The Warm Up but folks wasn't trying to hear it. When he signed with Jay all of sudden people were fans...same with KL, I guess he's gonna have to sign to a big time major before people pay attention.

I'm good with him touring with Macklemore if it can expose him to a broader audience because that's what he needs. Not saying I want a bunch of yuppies trying to "make" KRIT but if they can get him played then that's cool with me.

@‌jono

you rigth about j cole. i had the same experience, wasn't until BP3 til people wanted to bump his music. and i don't know if Def Jam will open his budget after the "meh"ness of LFTU
