Watch the first season of Fresh Prince then watch the last season..>Carlton is actually a good example of character growth and progression if you see how naive his character was in the beginning, the episode where him and Will get pulled over for driving in the Benz and Carlton refused to believe it was racial profiling until the officers admitted it, vs. in the end when he went full on and actually shitted on dude for not allowing him into that black fraternity...the naivety of Carlton is what annoyed people...his "well the system always works for you" mentality that didn't consider real life scnearios

i speak with a canadian accent, don't use much slang, listen to a lot of pop (or what would be considered white people music), people always assume i'm white after talking to me on the phone, but i don't think i'm white washed at all. i have no desire to be white and i don't think that they own a certain way of talking or a certain genre of music. there's no one way to be black so when i meet someone who behaves in a certain manner, i don't judge them. it is what it is. we don't know their upbringing or life experiences so who am i to say they're not being themselves?? i've known black people who were into things that aren't stereotypical of black people, such as listening to rock, dressing emo or goth, playing a sport other than football or basketball, all sorts of dumb shit. they didn't have many black friends because all the, "normal" black kids thought they were, "weird" so they hung out with white people and each other. some of them did have a jaded view of black people, alot of it having to do with their unpleasant interactions with black people who gave them a hard time because of their, "white" mannerisms.
