I know this doesn't answer your question about tablets but to help with cinivea... you can buy a cheap blu ray player and it'll play all movies and even play mkv. files without you having to convert them first. Just don't download the updates. You use your ps3 to watch movies...huh?

Yeah I use it for movies. I got a external hard drive hooked up and I put all my movies there and play thru the ps3. Whats a good cheap player

I have a Sony blu ray player and surround system but it cost a pretty penny.

Could also stream your content on the laptop to ps3 through media server, just google it
