Rick Ross, A.K.A. William Leonard Roberts II, was a correctional officer who was never affiliated with a gang in his life. He actually took the name "Rick Ross" from an infamous drug trafficker and gangster by that alias and used his life story of selling coke and running the streets as his own fake rap persona. He is a fake in every sense of the word.

If people was going to lie they would say stuff like I'm not really from the hood and I never sold drugs, and I'm not really black.. those lies make your life easier.. pretending to sell drugs are only done by rappers who already got on, then pretended to sell drugs after they became a rapper..
