ms.jones;3306968 said:Black, your whole argument throughout the thread is people should care about the individual lives that were lost...the moment someone said they didn't you got up in arms about them not caring, and the "What if it was you" rhetoric came into play. So, you can continue to sigh, and shake your head and do whatever else is is that you are going to do, but your posts prove me right. If someone doesn't care, you can't make them care, and you really can't condemn them or their feelings.
I have lost loved one, and people that were close to me...no, I didn't expect anyone to care, because they don't have to. If someone gave me a word of encouragement, or offered condolences, great. If they didn't, oh well. I've lost people over the years, and I have yet to cry in their memory, nor do I make it a point to continuously remind people of that person. It happened, they are gone, and the world keeps spinning.
9/11 happened, and all of a sudden, the world took a turn for the worst. Not true. Prior to 9/11 the US was in dire straits, and going to shit rapidly. But....since 9/11 happened, let's blame everything on that. Whatever.

I was thinking like you until I saw the movie. 145 minutes of actual footage of what happened. watching the recordings that people were taking with their cameras as the 2nd plane hit the tower. all the screaming. people jumping to their deaths so they wont burn alive. Looking at the faces of all those people in terror. watching the towers collapse when 3 minutes ago showed firefighters entering. Worst film I have ever seen in my life. I cried the whole way through.

Who deserves/doesn't deserve what happens to them? Unfortunate things happen EVERY DAY. How would you determine who DESERVES something or who doesn't?Mikko_;3307207 said:. They didn't deserve what happened to them,...., those killed were everyday people.

The shit is sad because they are people who had families and children and lived life just like the rest of us. They didn't deserve what happened to them, I don't care what the government did, those killed were everyday people.
One things for sure, I can say with all certainty that had one of your kids, or parents or loved ones been killed in those attacks you would be singing an entirely different tune. No offense.....

If you have ever lost a loved one especially, seeing that shit gets to you. I never want to be so jaded and cynical that I shut off empathy for other people, so I'm glad it sparks emotion in me.

No one is crying, well at least I'm not, but as a Human being I feel sympathy for those that lost their lives and the family members left behind...period. In any tragedy that happens I feel the same sympathy. No one can go out and save the World or be crippled by daily atrocities but there is nothing wrong with feeling basic human empathy for those types of situations.
Like I said before, it's not really a bad thing not to care, but you seemed to take the stance that those people had it coming because of shit the govt has done in the past and that is absurd, those people and their families didn't have anything to do with any of that. That's my view, I'm not going to keep going back and forth, you have your view and I have mine and your still my fav female poster. I just think your view on this issue is disturbing and it just....surprises me.

and the 9/11 hijackers were Saudis.
Think about that for a minute.
