My bad. I didn't know only white people died.

I didn't know any black folks that perished. If they did, that's unfortunate. But my statement still stands.

Thousands of innocent people get clapped in the Middle East everyday too. My heart is simply not that big.

What does that have to do with the actual people in the towers, and on the planes, and firefighters etc etc....... they deserved it because of what the Govt has done in the past? If you had personally known and lost someone I'm sure your attitude would be different. Like I said, the patriotic shit has nothing to do with it, I could care less about that, but thousands of innocent people died in a horrific way and it's unfortunate.

Does the lives of the innocent men, women, and children in the Middle East, or Korea, or Hiroshima not mean anything either? I'm supposed to be a bleeding heart patriot, and give a damn for what? Where is the sorrow, and the "Oh, that's fucked up" ness for the lives that have been lost at the hands of "good Americans" over the years? What, those thousands of people just happen to be at the wrong place, at the wrong time?

For all the bleeding hearts in here.. have you contributed to any 9/11 fund? Put a 9/11 child in your prayers? Have you helped a Middle Eastern child? What have you done to help this cause? Or are you just another patriotic American that talks the talk?

Call it what you want. I'm being a realist about 9/11. I'm not about to go out and buy my Flag pendant and put it on my shirt. I'm not about to talk about how oh so tragic it was. It happened for a reason. Americans were foolish enough to think that something like that couldn't EVER happen to them...that's that good ol' "We're better than you" attitude. It got knocked down a peg, and made everyone realize just how arrogant we Americans truly are.

Out of sight, out of mind I suppose. As long as the "bad" stuff doesn't happen on our turf, why should we care, huh? But oh noes....why oh why did they bring it to us? How dare they???

There's no part of being a realist that states one should not give 2 fucks about human life...that's a personal choice...and you're still missing my point...it's not about patriotism, American arrogance, or waving flags...it's about the simple fact that you have people that died and are still dying, American, foreign, everyone included, over something they have nothing to do with...if you think killing 3,00o+ people is worth Americans being aware that they can be touched, then carry that sentiment if someone close to you was killed that day...or any day for that matter...

Right to the bolded....so why should I be any more caring or patriotic about something that is a mostly every day occurrence? Because it happened on American soil?

Actually, yeah I did and did a little more than that as well....you keep talking about "Where's the bleeding hearts for everyone else" when it's clearly been stated that all the things you're mentioning are tragic situations, that none out ranks the other...take a step back from trying to go against the grain and actually read what's being said....

Not once did I say it happening in America made it more important...that's what you're missing....

Take a step back and quit trying to make people care. I'm simply out of give a fuck. I didn't care then, and I don't care now. Just because it happened in America, it takes precedence over all others. You see that point, but you fail to acknowledge it. "Yeah, but....it happened here, and it happened to alot of people. So care damnit!!" I can't, and I won't care for one thing more than the other. And to keep attempting to bring up the point of 'If it was you...." is futile. It isn't me, and I'm sure if it was me, 10 years from now, I wouldn't be shedding a tear about it.

Here's the thing:

As an American, it's very weird not to feel ANYTHING about it. That shit happened in your country. American's from Maine to Cally were fucked up, and I betcha the majority of them didn't know anyone who died that day as a result of it.

Look, I'm not heartless enough to say fuck feeling bad on 9/11. I saw part of the ceremony this morning, and the reading of some of the names. It takes a truly soulless person to sit through that and not feel a thing.

This being said, I understand why people don't care. It's been shoved in our faces for at least the last month 24/7. It's like if you personally aren't affected, you've become desensitized to it.

I give a fuck, but not a huge one. I shed a tear for my frat brother who was killed one year ago today by a stray bullet. I'll shed a tear for that dude.

I'm not...if I were this thread would've went alot differently...despite the fact that it's been said plenty of times to the contrary, in your mind "Because it happened in America it's more important" when nobody has said that but you...you're using that as the basis of your argument when it's a point that nobody has mentioned...

Ok. Lives were lost that day, and actions took place that changed the face of America. For that, I should care.

Nope.

This event was one of the many events in history in which lives were lost, and people perished. I think you've made a few posts referencing someone to "get over it", my attitude about 9/11 is the same. Get over it.

Ok. Quite a few have made the point of this event happening in America. If you didn't, my apologies.

Anyhow, still don't care. Lives were lost, and as you pointed out, lives are lost every day, be it American, or Foreign.

*smh...I never once said you should care either...my whole point was people's reasoning for not caring could very much be used to tell them to not give a fuck about anything that people talk about everyday...as far as the "if it happened to you argument" that was also in reference to if you're upset about something, the loss of a loved one, or whatever it may be that given you say you don't care about the lives lost that day I hope you wouldn't expect anyone to extend sympathy to you if you're going through a tragic situation...

People keep walking into my job trying to talk to me about it. I just keep reminding them that Jay-Z came out with "The Blueprint" and Fabolous came out with "Ghetto Fabolous". These middle aged white people must think I'm ignorant as fuck
