Alright this is my last word on it. The reason why I speak up for Diddy is because HE'S DONE 85% of his work on his own. Jay has never created a rap star (Ne-Yo & Rihanna don't count and Jeezy and Rozay are not his artists.) J Cole ain't ready yet and Willow ain't rap. Nonetheless, Diddy brought us numerous rappers (Craig Mack, B.I.G., Lil Kim, Mase, The Lox, Black Rob, G. Dep, Young Jeezy, Young Joc and Guerrilla Zoe while resurrecting 8 Ball and MJG's careers while currently managing Rozay & Nicki Minaj to much success.) Loon is the only rap artist under Diddy that did not find success after an album release. Loon did, however, appear on many singles with Diddy from 2002-2003, so he saw some progress there.
Diddy and his Hitmen production team have held down all Bad Boy artists, Busta Rhymes, Ghostface Killah, Big Pun, Rakim, KRS One, Fat Joe, Ice Cube and many other prominent rappers & singers FOR OVER A DECADE and even before that he was producing for Father MC & Heavy D. I just can't fathom why he's not acknowledged for actually doing what rap moguls are supposed to do. It makes no sense to me.
Some of this may also have something to do with net worth reported as well. Jay has been listed at 547M, 50 at 440M while Diddy has stayed at 346M since 2006. Why? IDK. He's had numerous successful business deals since then and he was neck and neck with P. in the late 90's. If P. is at 661M than Diddy should be at 550M at least by now.
50's only had his G Unit hookup as far as success directly related to rap. Diddy has matched them all in outside endeavors and surpassed them all in musical ones. I just don't think he'll ever get his just do. 50 said it himself that Jay ain't worth as much as people think. Maybe he knows something that we don't. I rest my case.
