I've never played an Eminem album, outside the Eminem Show, more than twice, IN LIFE.

Rap is about shared references. You can tell the blacks who grew up closer to whites, because

they feel Em. To those who grew up in a stereotypically "black" background, the shit he raps

about might as well be Chinese.

That's not a diss to my niggas Stew or Sion neither, but, a lot of niggas don't understand yall putting Em

in the goats list, like how whites don't understand how Trayvon Martin was considered to be criminally murdered by most niggas.

THe lack of understanding comes from being from two different perspectives/world views.

I didnt see this earlier. This is what im sayin. Its no disrepect to all the black Emimem fans, Lol But i just dont get it.

Like for example, Im a Jay fan. i occaisionally go back and listen to Reasonable Doubt. Im a Nas fan, i can play Illmatic right now. If you're a grown Eminem fan, soooo, how does that work? How do you go back and listen to 'chica chica slim shaady. Hi! My name is!'. Eh? You cringed just now, didnt you? You grown now, you not a rebellious teen, how do you rock wit his rebellious teen content?

And you know how you rap along to a song at home/in the club and get in ya little rhythm? You rap the words like u the one wrote it. Yall know what i mean! So how does one---a black man--- rap along to 'I AM , whatever u say i am!' or 'Please stand up, please stand up'? Like how does that even work. I dont get it.

lol at this group thinking shit you doing now

What do you mean? It'd be groupthink if i thought it b/c they do, but it just so happens I dont know people like that irl. So I personally cant imagine (nh) a ngga rapping to Eminem, like as a diehard fan. Like thats not a punchline or a joke. I got nothing, like how does that work bumpin Eminem in the whip? I cant see it homie. I envision (nh) a corny ass ngga rappng along to an EMinem song. I see that black ngga supporting Darren WIlson

coon2.jpg

me[/b].

Had to check one of my homies a few months back. It was around the time when everybody was doing their MT. Rushmore of NBA,NFL,actors,Hip Hop, etc. This nigga put Em on his shit and I was like FOH. I've known this nigga all my life. Between road trips, day to day rollin in each other cars, listening to music while just coolin, etc. No Em has EVER been bumped other then him being featured on somebody else shit.

Son whole argument was frail. Asked him to pinpoint Em classic albums. He said MMLP (typical).I then told him to give me 10 songs off it off top his head failed. Nigga knew Stan and probably 3 others. Meanwhile I gave him the same task with other classics & he rattled off the whole tracklists in order. I was like why front nigga. You don't like that nigga shit lol.

The problem is too many niggas (blacks) propel Eminem off outside influence and give him the whiteboy cheat code. A few niggas do fuck with Eminem forreal forreal, props to them but a good half of em just be ranking him high to appease others.

Them: Oh nah son the whiteboy cold as fuck! You hating!.

Me: Give me some quotables?

Them:
eli-porter-rap-o.gif

Ur boy sounds like me tbh. Im a huge Hov fan (my fav rapper), but even I know Eminem is a better technical rapper than him, and is def top 5 all time....from a TECHNICAL standpoint.

Have I bumped his albums like that, no ( I dont relate to him or the content in most of his music)...bought his first album off the hype, and bought his Relapse album bootleg in a 2 for $5 deal with Cam's 'Crime Pays' album lol...still in all, bias aside, he's a lyrical genius, and if u gave him and any other rapper the same narrative or concept to rap about im pretty sure he's gonna be able to do so using more words per minute and a more complicated rhyme scheme, all the while painting a vivid picture that's cohesive and actually makes sense, dude is mad talented, simple and plain....and yes, u are def a hater to not acknowledge that, either that or ur lowkey racist.

As far as being a complete artist as some other hiphop heavyweights, that idk...but as far as sales are concerned, and staright up raw lyrical ability, its no contest...with that said he's stil not im my personal top 5, or maybe even 10 for that matter....but u gotta give props where props is due.

“Hip Hop is Black music, without question, and, unfortunately for some people, it’s tough to accept that you have a White artist that does it better than Black artists,” 50 Cent says during an interview with Music Choice. "It is what it is. You can get like whoever you think is the best Black artist and stand them face-to-face in a room with Em and he will eat that [guy] alive. Right now if you had 'em prepare themselves, whatever way they would have to prepare themselves to come battle…I bet what I have, everything” that Eminem would win.

50 Cent also says that Eminem has surpassed Jay Z and that the two were paired for 2010 concerts because of Jay Z’s business commitments.

“That’s Live Nation ‘cause [Jay Z] sold his touring career to Live Nation,” 50 Cent says, referring to Jay Z’s reported $150 million pact with Live Nation that was signed in 2008. "They’ve got to keep him hot enough to go get their money back. So they match ‘em up with Em, put them together ‘cause he got more momentum connected to his relationship with Beyonce and his record with Alicia. It makes sense. It makes sense, the Detroit/New York show. But it only makes sense to me because of business, it makes sense, because Em sold like 60 million records more than him. How you put ‘em there like they’re equals? It’s tough for me to say some of this [stuff] and not sound like a hater. But I don’t care.”

In June, 50 Cent appeared on an episode of Bravo's Watch What Happens Live. 50 Cent mentioned Jay Z when he was asked who he thinks is the "most overrated Hip Hop star of all time." "Overrated?" 50 said. "Jay Z. He would say he's overrated. 'Rather be overrated than underpaid.

read this on hiphopdx. but yo i don't get it. no one i know bumps em shit maybe a song here and there maybe. i don't see 50 how he thinks em can compare to jay. jay has classic rap shit em doesn't. Em can rap but where is he hiphop classics. It must be the sales that blind people. what say ya'll.

pure thoroughbred coon shit

Lol your exactly the person hes talkin about

Jay is touring more because of Live Nation deal? Thought that was pretty evident, makes sense. Teams up with JT, Em, Bey, Kanye. Get the picture

Jay has got a wide range of businesses... a wider range than 50 and Em put together.

The one thing you can say about Jay is, he does sh*t on his own terms.... and that's what anyone who enters the arena of business, wants to do.

Why 50 all-of-a-sudden throwing shots at Jay for? Is it because for no reason, Jay's company went and made somewhat of a power move in the sport of boxing? 50 and his Struggle Man Struggle promotions is jealous? Y'all know 50 catches feelings that easy too.

.... not to mention, not too many years ago, it was 50 opening up for Jay on a tour.

Jay is by far better than em. I can't listen to em can't relate to his music. He can spit but to front like he better than past greats is blasphemous esp if sales are the real reason. This is a race issue as well. U may catch a handful of niggas who may have listen to him but no niggas I know have bumped his music in a decade.

Also nobody has mentioned (probly bc this site has a racist agenda against Em) Jay is the number 1 bitter of all time, bites a sht ton of Biggie,Snoop,Nas and even Eminem's lyrics (bit Em's "Im Back" lyrics on "Success ft Nas).

Cutdabullshit cutdabullashit

For every verse where jay quotes someone he has a verse with no quotes that's better.

The only problem with this though is it assumes the only way to really enjoy rap is if you can relate to everything the rapper is saying which we all know as rap fans is 100% false. You can grow up around all blacks and still enjoy Eminem if you're somebody who simply enjoys the art of rap, wordplay, and the actual act of being an MC. That's something that isn't race specific or you need to relate to the music to catch on to. Plenty of people like Eminem and don't spend alot of time around white folks at all. Even from the angle of relating to the music if you think suburban white kids are the only kids running around here with mommy issues that affect how they see the world you're off on that too because plenty of black kids grow up dealing with the same type of nutty ass mother and baby momma drama Eminem dealt with that he talked about through a good portion of his music

Nah, nowhere did I say everything.

I have personally never met a black dude that I ever heard bumping Eminem's shit.

Nor have I ever heard a black person bring up an Eminem song or album.

Only time I heard niggas talking about him was when Benzino was attacking him.

It was the attack that brought up the conversation, not the music.

and by the way, I don't have Jay in my top 5, and maybe........ not top 10.

I also have listened to and enjoyed white rap albums also.

Bubba Sparxxx has an album (Deliverance) that I prefer over all Eminem albums, except, MAYBE the Eminem Show.

Reason? As a southerner, I have a lot of shared refrences with Bubba Sparxxx.

I feel him when he talkin bout that country struggle. Maybe if I was from Michigan, I'd feel Eminems shit more.

He just has too much shit that turns me away from his music. NONE of it being his skin color.

I dont know or associate with any nggas that rock out to Eminem, b. Thats the bottom line. If you black and you dont acknowledge this i tip my hat to you, but we cut from a different cloth. This is not a debate irl. And i hate havin debates online, that are not topics irl

There you have you it, instead of coming up with dumb ass reasons to Big Up Jay which is easily destroyed with-anyone with common sense and actual knowledge of hiphop.

A simple I don't like/listen to Em cause he's white and I'm black was all that is needed.

Cause everything else you posted was complete bullshit
.

You close your eyes and zone out to 'Just Lose It'. *Tips cap*. Enjoy the rest of your day fam. nh

Step up the debate skills and overall hiphop knowledge instead of talking out ya ass cause you will get called on the bullshit.

See, you try to disregard nggas politely but they take kindness for weakeness.

Ngga you aint callin out shyt. Doesnt matter how far this culture has moved from its origin, its still THE CULTURE. And if you, im assuming a black man, willfully disregard cultural aspects of hip hop just b/c white america and white teens tell you, kill yourself.

According to white america Iggy Azalea is a pop rap icon, Maclemore > Kendrick Lmar, Gucci Mane and 2 Chainz are representative of black america.

In other words, when when i discuss things on this site, im asuming im amongst commoners. I dont dicuss includign their opinion. They not of my culture. So why would their opinion matter when 'we' discuss the Goats in 'our' shyt. Eminem not bein a Goat isnt b/c he's white. He's not a goat b/c his catalogue is corny, he's corny, white or black. In fact 'corny' is a designation white america cant even make! They dotn know how to differentiate. Thats why Flo-Rida to them is an icon lls So no, im not gonna play dumb like hip hop culutre is not selective.

I have been speaking on Hip Hop Culture and more specific rap music, a lot of the reasons you gave throughout this thread as to why Jay is bigger than Em had nothing to do with either.

Yet all this talk about culture you still don't where the Hook " The Way I Am Comes from.

Since Jay return there a reason Euro Jay gets thrown around, what culture he been rapping about? Folks in The hood and most urban areas are not wearing Tom Ford.

You made reference to that song and in relation to be grown men in clubs knowing his shit.

Retarded logic 1.. Em is not and never been a club/party rapper

2. To play the grown man cringing in the club angle..Any grown ass mature man that is not a ignant cat wouldn't co-sign shit like Hey Papi, Big Pimpin either.

1. If Em has never been a club/party rapper what was The Real Slim Shady/Without Me/Just Lose It all about? Those songs seemed like they were made for white people at nightclubs. But I can't really say because I don't go to clubs where whites frequent. I know damn well if a DJ played one of those records at a Black club he'd get run out of the DJ booth before the record was over.

2. You're buggin about Big Pimpin, that's a classic club anthem. And I'm a 40 year old Black American.

Fail 1. Those arent club records.

Fail 2. The point went over your head.. To be more specific you playing big pimping in front of ya moms, wife/gf or better yet ya daughter.

Shit you ya daughters date come thru to pick her up and he blasting saying this..

"You know I - thug em, fuck em, love em, leave em

Cause I don't fuckin need em

Take em out the hood, keep em lookin good

But I don't fuckin feed em

First time they fuss I'm breezin

Talkin bout, "What's the reasons?"

I'm a pimp in every sense of the word, bitch"

Cause as grown mature adults with common sense aint co signing that ignant bullshit.

Nosign. That's how we do. We take cruises, drive around in fly cars(even if they're rented), vacations in exotic places. Maybe not on the level that Jay Z was doing it but when you reach adulthood you start living that life.

Lemme guess, you still live at home with your mama?

You just proved my point though, and kind of negated your own, by saying you relate more to Bubba Sparxxx than Eminem based on the shared southern experience. You didn't pin point race, you pin pointed the shared experience of growing up in the south. So why do you think that a black person who likes Eminem must have grown up around more whites than blacks and not instead that they possibly can relate to the shared experience of having a fucked up mother, an absent father, and a baby mother you can't stand? Those aren't race specific or have anything to do with growing up around black or white folks. THat's just a shitty home life which alot of people regardless of race deal/dealt with growing up. I do agree though Deliverance is a good fucking album that should have gotten Bubba Sparxxx more shine than it did as his follow up.

All you that shit you said has nothing to do what Big Pimping is about in Jay-z verses...simply put it about him pimping hoes. Jay-z himself won't be playing Big Pimping in front of Blue Ivy anytime soon.

Drop me some Eminem lines!?!

If u tell me drop a Nas line, off the head -'The buck that bought the bottle coulda struck the lotto.' Not just HOW he says it, but the meaning BEHIND it.

U tell me drop a Jay line, off the head-'We used to spend the night at slumber parties now im tryin rock his ass to sleep'. (nh). Not just HOW he says it, but the meaning BEHIND it.

Scarface, off the top of the head-'Woke up this morning filled with the spirit, so i wrote it down for the homies to hear it'

WHAT ARE EMINEM'S LINES!?!? Where is the shyt that sticks to your ribs nh? Where are his lines that are not just SAID cleverly, witty, or harsh, but lines that have meaning BEHIND them and live on. That live in your memory, OFF THE TOP OF YOUR HEAD.

Then when you cant do that, feel free to do ya googles, rapgenius, whatever. Just please, give us something, anything.
