Explain to me why Too Short is so much better than Gucci??? Yea Short got him now but if Gucci keep putting out that trunk music(same thing Short is known for) i think he could reach that spot one day

Short is a Top 20 storyteller of all-time. There was always something beyond his often times raunchy lyrics. And like Slick Rick, he was able to paint vivid images with words. Technically, Short also showed he was very skilled and had a pretty damn good flow. Gucci Mane, on the other hand is nowhere close to Too Short and never will be. The dude (like Jeezy) lives off fucking adlibs and wackness. I'm sorry, but bad comparison.

I already consider Luda and TI legends, they'll be remembered. I need to hear more from Jay Elec

To be a legend you at least have to have a classic . Luda just doesn't have any . Vanilla Ice was remembered but that does make him a legend. As far as Jay E , the T/S said ten years from now , I feel he has the talent to be a legend.

I agree on the too short/gucci parallel. There really is no difference between their lyrical or flowing capabilities

Gucci is the exact same thing every album and I disagree with Too Short being wack...being that I've heard the majority of his albums. Also, what has Gucci done that has people seriously thinking he's a legend and he's great? He's just another "I live off adlibs and average lyrics" cat who folk love.

I agree that alot of people we consider legends werent the most lyrical

If Too Short would have came out today most people on the reason would say he was wack and only talk about pimping and hoes

People call Biz Markie a legend and he definitly aint rap about shit (Picking Boogers, Say she just a friend, smh)

Hell the same could go for Kid n Play, Eazy E, and a whole lot of other rappers who werent lyrical but were highly entertaining

And as far as Gucci his last album actually was a good album he actually rapped about things and it wasnt just about adlibs

Where did you get record sales from??? Dont try and play me like im one of these high school students on here worshiping sales. Every person i listed is talented. You may not think so but these niggas is putting out good music right now. I said 10 years for a reason. Music lasts the test of time, gimmicks dont. This is the reason that 50cent is irrelevant now. No one is downing your opinion just dont act like ur brand of music is superior to everyone elses. And to answer your question Fabolous is a great emcee but he will never be a legend til he can craft a full album not just a dope mixtape

yo if 50 was a gimmick then wht the hell is gucci mane....good music is your opinion homie not saying those you listed dont make good shyt but i feel that legendary emcee's should have some type of balance ok we all want to hear good music but wack emcee's are capable of making good music now some one like officer ricky can possibly take his shyt to legendary status because i feel that dude is a good emcee and makes good music cats like gucci mane is a wack/basic rapper who chooses good beats and might make a couple nice songs na no chance unless he goes from wack to good on the mic....people seemed to be fixated on legendary status and it seems only in hip hop you can be considered a legend and be wack..think of legendary singers whitney houston, anita baker, marvin gaye, michael jackson, mariah carey now if i put the 3 girls from total in or johnny gill in that mix people would say i was trippin...both made a few hits but they aint legends..hoops jordan ,magic, bird, kobe now if bruce bowen was thrown in the mix again i'd be tripping but bown had a lomg productive career...some might say you cant compare those but when determining legendary status i think u can

-J. Cole (can i be a star? or does stayin in this game have to change who we are?)

-Blu (below the heavens is one of the dopest albums in recent years)

-Mikkey Halsted (has a co-sign from all prominent chi town rappers and has one of the nicest flows in the game)

-Yelawolf (if dude keeps tearing beats to shreds the way he has been, people won't be able to ignore him for long)

-Jay Electronica (if he can continue dropping bombs like exhibit c)

Gotta say Jay Electronica as long as he continues to record with Just Blaze for at least a full album.

J. Cole, homes making music with No I.D., should be pretty slick.

Slaughterhouse

ELZHI!!

Would you niggas stop actin like I'm calling gucci a legend right now. 10 yrs is a long time from now. Everyone that I listed has the potential to be listed among the greats within that time span. And gucci is not a gimmick ,he doesnt start fake beef, he doesn't do lame YouTube videos for promo. Like Too short gucci got on his grind and put his music out there. Legend doesn't mean boring and lyrical. And I guarantee u 50 is done wit rap because he doesn't think he can make anymore money from it..... He's a lucky businessman not an emcee
