Nigga please with that

Radio stations playing "Daughters", the young cats w/ buzz are ppl like Kendrick & KRIT, Eminem is pushing Slaughterhouse instead of D12, Hip-Hop is doing fucking FINE compared to when The Reason had a G-Unit sub-forum

rewind to 6 years ago when 50 was ruling the game with wack-ass cookie cutter singles and dat Laffy Taffy shit was poppin

E-40 doing great competing in todays market. 66,000 sold independently is cash money. I wanna see Earl do 100,000 b4 he hangs it up.

whats the reason for the major drop in music sales? is it the overabundance of technology that lets you get music for free or is it the quality downgrade that came about when artists started going for ringtone hits as opposed to classic albums?

Both. Why go on a cd hunt when you DL a cd in 3minutes, throw it on ya mp3 player n on to the next mission of the day? Plus some places be wanting $18 for cd. Fuck that

true but do you think consumers would put in the effort to cop it if the music reflected some type of effort by the artist to actually craft an album worthy of the purchase? i think these labels are looking for the short term quick profit by marketing artists who make dance hits that sell lots of ringtones, and shelving artists with a message and an album that can be played straight through no skips. like if kendricks album is really one of the best in the past 20 years it probably will go under the radar regardless due to little promotion, because it doesnt have some ignorant club track on it. thats my analysis lol

Sales mean nothing these days, people buy bullshit and in all honesty a lot of classics or great albums will be left on the shelfs because of it.
