My best friend and his chick got engaged back in Oct. but arent getting married till 2013.

Why you ask? To give ample time to get their finances straight for all of the wedding.

cause females enjoy Cinderella weddings

Cinderella weddings take tons of planning and money

to last no more than 6-8 hrs

to be remembered for a lifetime

to be enjoyed by everyone but those involved in the planning/execution

one of the true mysteries of life

nah really these broads with missing/broke ass daddy's got it fucked up....they supposed to pay for the wedding, but when's the last time you heard of somebody doing that?.....i got my daughter tho.....why would I want the guy she's marrying to go into debt trying to show off?

Depends on when that couple actually wants to get married...there's a bunch of reasons a couple may be engaged for a while before they get married...school, money, distance, etc....

I proposed to my wife on Christmas night 2003 we got married march 2005. reason we were determined to have no bills after we got married. hell we did a time share presentation to pay for our honeymoon.

Miami in springtime, 3 days hotel paid, meals paid, discount on the rental car, ----------------------$50.

i was engaged for all of 2 hours. husband had been talking about marrying me for a week and i thought he was just saying that shit to get me hyped up...he called me one day at work and was like "i got the afternoon off, if you wanna get married meet me at the courthouse." i took off work for the rest of the day and got married that afternoon in my work uniform at the courthouse. we've been happily married for 5 years and expecting our first baby in july.

our families were pissed because we didn't want a wedding but we didn't see the point in holding off marriage for a wedding...weddings are for feeding the family and taking pictures...it's really not that big of a deal and its way too expensive for no reason. we didn't get rings until our first anniversary and now that i have one i still don't wear it.

all that is to say, the wedding/rings are for show. the marriage license is what matters. if yall are really ready for a marriage, the wedding can wait.

Because some couples are getting their life together financially before tying the knot.

Let's say the fiance has back child support, the new wife takes on his debt as a couple (word to my aunt paying 30G's for her aint shit husband back child support). She could have bad fucking credit and they are getting her to a decent credit before tying the knot. it's not always about the wedding...

BUT FOR ME!!

it's about the wedding. fuck everything.. fuck ya'll opinion. Im working out damn near everyday to get in a size 8 dress for my wedding and Im saving for my wedding next year.... Fuck a courthouse wedding.... it's my day.

its mind boggling to me too fam

like they don't have car loans, undergrad loans, graduate loans (possibly)....a mortgage in the future

I love how when the media talks about "poor financial choices" weddings or NOWHERE to be seen on the list
