Bone Thugs N Harmony- Tha Crossroads remix
This was by far Bone's biggest record and it wasn't even on the original East 1999 album until about mid 96. This was dedicated to people around Bone's life that were no longer living, this is something we can all relate to because in some way shape or form we knew of someone that died. They spoke about childhood friends (Wally, Boo etc) and family members (and I miss my uncle Charles y'all) A very well done record and a nice job flipping the old Isley Brothers sample.
Mobb Deep- Temperature's Rising
From the Infamous album, a great introspective record about people who are no longer around, but instead are locked up, or at the very least on the run from the police. Good storytelling by P and Havoc giving us different view points about friends locked up and holding them down while they do their bid, and their hatred for the cat that "snitched"
Tupac- I Aint Mad At Cha
My all time favorite Tupac record speaks about a friend that he once knew and was cool with. But over the years they began to grow apart, Tupac continuing on the same path, while his friend has decided to live a regular life and not do crime and turned to religion becoming a Muslim. The video was eerie because in a way it foreshadowed his death via gunshot.
