Mental slavery? I can agree with. I mean, we are all slaves to money, possessions and sometimes ignorance. We let the money dictate us, and allow money to define stature in the world instead of moral compass and our zeal for life. We step over family, friends, and whoever just to become rich. We believe in religion just so we can have something to depend on. There is a lot of mental slavery going on in the world. I dont necessarily agree with the whole nigga part though about saying nigga and using it. I've tried to use the word brother, homie, dawg, bruh more lately, something other than that, but to completely wipe away the word is hard. It's become a term of endearment almost for the black community... like yo, that's my nigga... that's my nigga. I think that the day when black people started telling white people that it wasn't cool to say that shit no more, the tides changed somewhat. However, we live in a world now where people actually allow white people to say nigga freely. I think there are deeper issues than the word nigga, and that harping on what black people say amongst each other is holding us back from a bigger issue at hand.

kanye west said some realness when he said he would like to quit using nigga in raps,,,but there is no other word strong enough to convey what nigga does,,,he is right,,as a writer i was trying to do the same thing,,but sayin fool in place oif nigga in raps jus sound corny..so instead,,when i say nigga in a verse,,,im actually addressing those who still submit to callin themselves a nigga,,,and even with that i feel guilty

but it has been an easy transition for me to not say nigga personally because growin up in chicago im used to sayin

I look at like this. The word nigga isnt the greatest word to use. But neither is the word bitch. Bitch is a derogatory term just as hoe is. Fuck, shit are all derogatory terms that we have been conditioned to use. I am guilty of it, and that's the thing. Everything is a process. Knowledge of self, is being aware of your decisions, aware of who you are, aware of yourself(lol obviously). We all make mistakes, and we all have lived up to a stereotype at one point or another, but the power comes from failing, falling, or making mistakes and learning from them. So many people take lessons and don't utilize them properly in life and end up regressing up mentally and emotionally. We, as black people have to embrace our emotional complexities and our imperfections. There is a reason why women walk around with extensions, weave, loads of make up, it's to put on an image, provide a mask, and there are numerous amounts of women in all race who do this, but I see it in black women. Black women believe that the "American women" is long straight hair, slim figure, etc..... When in actuality, if you read the Bible, they said Jesus had hair like wool. Since when have white people had hair like wool? I mean, black people are the true creators in my eyes and we do not act as such, and we're all guilty of that. The mission however should be to change and grow as best you can. Self-awareness is key in life. True God lifestyle shit.
