Young Justice: 5 Episodes of Season 3 Have Been Recorded
Though it was announced in November 2016, and confirmed when Warner Bros. announced plans for a DC-themed streaming network, for many fans this is the true confirmation that a third season of Young Justice (titled Young Justice: Outsiders) is indeed happening; the series’ cast has recorded the first five episodes of the new season.
The good news was recently (somewhat inadvertently) announced at AwesomeCon by voice actor Nolan North, who brings Superboy to life on the teenage heroes-based series,

While discussing the relationships he’s developed while working in animation, the actor segued from mentioning his friendship with Khary Payton (Aqualad) to the big news. “It’s happening, we just recorded episode five — it’s happening,” North told an enthusiastic audience. Of course, since this was spilled over a week ago, there’s a very real possibility that the cast has increased the total number of recorded episodes by this point.
“Young Justice” aired for two seasons, from 2011 to 2013, on Cartoon Network before ending with the epic “Invasion” storyline. After years of lobbying by fans and creators alike, Warner Bros. Animation finally announced in November that the series would return for a third season. Although it was widely assumed Season 3 would air on Cartoon Network, alongside Teen Titans Go! and the new Justice League Action, the series’ return instead landed on Warner Bros.’ DC-themed streaming service alongside a live-action Titans series based on DC Comics’ Teen Titans characters.
Executive produced by Sam Register, and produced by series creators Brandon Vietti and Greg Weisman, “Young Justice: Outsiders” will find the teen heroes facing their greatest challenge as they fight meta-human trafficking “and the terrifying threat it creates for a society caught in the crossfire of a genetic arms race spanning the globe and the galaxy.”
