I think James Baldwin raises a good question when commenting about the word. There is a reason why this word is still around and for some people they choose to keep this word around to serve some kind of purpose. I think as a society this word shouldn't be tolerated but since they're are no regulations on launguage people still feel the need to use this term for whatever reason.
