Welll here is the first. I am a Talib Kweli fan and i respect his hustle better than I respect a lot of others. I have NEVER heard of Kweli struggling or anything of the sort because he's never went mainstream WHY??? Cuz he stays in his lane and true to what he does. He only does music that he believes in which IMO is more respected than cats that have their hands tied by that bullshit formula labels keep them to.

BTW i DO respect Waka's hustle but his music is some of the worst music i have ever heard in my life and there will be NO longevity in his CAREER. Anybody can make a hot song, some can make a hot album, but there are very few that can have a career in this rap game.

Waka Flocka is just one of many disposable rappers. Just a matter of time before another Waka pops up and steals the spot. But now im talking about average cats , they'd rather wanna see someone making money off fabricated stories about selling drugs than someone making meaningful music.

You know once someone made a thread asking "Would you rather have a career like Tech N9ne or Flo Rida" and nobody said Flo Rida because no matter how much money he made off "Low" he still has an incosistent fanbase.

RIGHT and I have never heard ANYBODY from where i'm from bumpin Tech N9ne including me BUT i do recognize that he has a NICE empire and kept true to himself. I read an article on him on XXL and would have NEVER know the nigga was doin it like that.

I think their last album sold 30-40k , that's platinum for underground rappers. Plus they're doing shows , tours and all that. Now that's a hustle to be respected if you ask me.

Totally agree. Just like Z-Ro. He will NEVER get an award or NEVER sell a platinum or maybe even gold album but he has a solid career and has the respect of numerous people. People get too wrapped up in sales and exposure and miss the big picture.

on the other hand though people forget this is the music business...sales do matter that's why people get caught up in it...Z-Ro may have respect but he also has a solid fan base that will always support his music...if he didn't have that audience then better believe he'd never be releasing music through ANY label underground or mainstream
