Yea i knew the scorpio would have superior specs to the ps4 pro when it was rumored it would be running at 6 terraflops. imo, the ps4 pro is a joke of an upgrade. with its use of checkerboard rendering in an attempt to achieve a 4k gaming experience. and not even including a UHD blu ray player. pretty pathetic that sony even entertained the thought of releasing it.

Yea, Scorpio is overall 50% more powerful than the Pro, 43% on just GPU alone. Its a better machine in every conceivable way...GPU, CPU, RAM, bandwidth, optical drive.

But the scorpio on the other hand, while it sounds great on paper, has its own set of impediments. for one, the dearth of exclusives on its platform. what sense does it make in releasing a robust console if u dont have any titles to show off the capability? maybe there is something in the pipeline that they plan on showing off at e3?

Subjective. They've had plenty of AAA and smaller XBOX Live exclusives this gen (across genres Sony's first party doesnt in many cases), and a few already announced for release this year. People either choose to realize this, or not...but the games are definitely there. Its all personal preference. However, unless its Nintendo, third party games will of course matter more and there will be no comparison there. The Red Dead 2, Battlefront 2, Destiny 2, Assassin's Creed Egypt, Shadow of War, etc Digital Foundry side by sides should be interesting.

and also, almost every future release will be designed with the OG xbone in mind. Some developers may go the extra mile and utilize the power of the system, but most will opt for the lowest denominator and ensure it runs smoothly on the 1st generation console instead

Developers already do with for PC. Scalability is not a new concept. Consoles just finally have the tools for it. They said they had Forza 6 running on Scorpio at 4K, 60fps, Ultra PC settings, no optimization, with 30% GPU overhead leftover, in just 2 days. Scorpio simply brute forces alot of the work. This thing basically automatically remasters 360 and XBO games. The Pro requires a special patch for what Scorpio will do inherently.

4K/60fps, yes or no. Hell, 1080p/60fps would be dope as hell. I know the Forza 6 demo was 4K/60, but will it be able to play all the games at at least 1080p/60fps?

Yes, even 360 games. Supersampling is built into the system, unlike PS4 Pro. If a game, any game, has dynamic resolution, it will auto scale up or down depending on TV settings. Same for framerate. Whatever the target was, Scorpio will scale accordingly. No patches or "boost modes" needed.

Really all this amounts to is better lighting and shading for multiplatform games at the moment. If ms cant grab any exclusives to really show off the power, then this is a waste of a machine. I dont have problems with online activity with the pro with the exception of that shitty ass nba2k17 everyrhing runs smooth. Withbthe machine being marketed towards the premium gamers as was stated on ign by a ms employee, its gonna cost no less than 500. 400 would put a huge dent in sonys sales but ms not confident enough to sale it atvthat price point.

Im sure you read the rest of my comment cause i explained why thats the case at the moment.

Also companies arent going to make two different editions of a multiplatform game in this case cause theres not enough seperating the pro and scorpio to justify doing so. If that was the case, we'd see that now with the ps4 and pro. Scorpio needs exclusives built from the ground up to showcase the full potential of the system. Ok Activision still made cod games for the ps3 and 360 but theres 160 million consoles sold between those sytems which still have a high online playrate.

Again, companies have been making PC versions for years. Where have you been? lol

Games also get Pro patches.

Games are scalable. API's...none of this is new.

WTF? lol

Pc versions arent that different from console versions. 2k, madden ,cod. All those game dont have the dramatic difference in looks or gameplay even though the pc id a more powerful machines. If the scorpio is 50% more powerful than the pro, an exclusive built from the ground up is the only way to see all that extra power. Would you be happy with a extra game mode or less load time with the scorpio? Thats all it'll amount to besides slightly better graphics and lighting. That doesnt justify buying another 500 system whether you have money or not. Has to be innovative like the last few nintendo systems and innovative games. Well see what it's capable of firsthand come november.

All i want and need is GOOD GAMES. And as far as im concerned Sony got the lead when it comes to exlusivities.

I still aint got a ps4 pro. A 4k tv neither.

So far a good full hd screen and a ps4 is still aiiight imo.

They not gonna do all that for a Scorpio. Most you gonna get is better frame rate and higher resolution

I'm one of the few who waited out cause I knew this was coming. So it's PS4 Pro and Scorpio for me. Just need to cop a 4K TV but first thing I'm getting is a Nintendo Switch as soon as I could find one.
