I always liked The A.B.A gimmick more then the dead man zombie stuff. Besides the obvious that it was more believable, it also allowed Taker to do better promo work, imo.

But Vince still thinks it's cool in almost 2015 to have a grown man pretending to be dead and another pretending to be a Russian movie villain from 1985.

I always thought when he came out at the end of the iron man match between rocky and hunter was the beginning of that persona.

Taker was cool then but I always preferred dead man taker, the music he had in 98>>>>>

That Ministry of Darkness theme with the guitar was beautiful

yeah thats his best theme, not the OG shit, not the Limp Bizkit shit or the lame shit after that either...

I'm sorry, but the dead man Undertaker was always my favorite. ABA was cool to a certain extent. Big Evil was...meh.

But nothing beats hearing that gong tho. Followed by that long slow walk to the ring. GOAT.

I remember Take in his American bad ass attire before he officially even became American bad ass.

Fall of 99, when he was partners with Big Show

I think there was some behind the scenes stuff surrounding that (either business or injury) to the point where Taker was walkin around giving no fucks. He still did the deadman intro and stuff in the ring, but backstage Taker was just chillin by his bike dressed down (he always had choppers since he first started).

Interview from 97... Taker's ABA gimmick is just his real life persona.

Crazy to think taker been doin it long time and never really was great on mic

His mic work was sufficient enough. Never had to be "great", so it sorta seems like you're taking a passive aggressive shot at his mic work for no reason...

Woulda loved to seen an ABA vs Stone Cold re-feud also.

i liked him when he was Mean Mark Callous in WCW ..the heat sinking missle(him walkin across the top rope to the middle and droppin the elbow) was nasty.

yeah when he was Mean Mark Callous in WCW and he had the Heart Punch as his finisher, The Heart Punch was a bad ass move.

And he replaced Sid Vicious in The Skyscrapers as The Tag team Partner of Danny Spivey
