Why is this even a surprise? It should be a well known fact that the masses that drive purchases in Hip Hop today don't listen to Wu like that anymore. OB4CL2 was a better and more highly anticipated album and it didn't even go gold. You can tell who is a real Hip Hop fan and who isn't though. Who gives a shit about how much an album sells? If I hear it and like it, I'm copping it. I could care less who else bought it. This chart watch that people are obsessed with is stupid. Anyone with sense should know that sales =/= quality. Vanilla Ice to this day still has one of the highest selling Hip Hop cds, are we going to say he's a top 10 rapper. Get over that shit. And the Wu niggas probably don't care about sales all that much anyway. For at least a decade, I'd say most of their money has been coming off of touring. They still put asses in the seats so they are still making their money. Not to mention that this album was probably done piecemeal so it likely didn't take a whole lot of resources to put together.

I won't front i downloaded it. It's hot but it aint going to take the world over. They are not the sound of today. Old heads like me are the only ones who are checking for it and probably the only ones who are going to buy it. And yes i will get an official copy when i get payed Friday.

i bought it, it's good

But be real they didnt promote this shit for nothing, probably took them no time at all to make, plus quite a few songs were out before the album dropped and it still did 40k

The project was too short but it was good if you have a ipod where it can run along with the rest of your music on shuffle. Thats the only way most will appreciate it. It was only $ 10.00 !!!

The album only had 30 mins of music, you cannot expect too many people to go out and pay full 1 hour album money for it.

I copped the album it was only 9.99... but not alot of people knew about the album being released yet. Really on people on the Internet and some die hard fans really knew that the album came out.

I cant compare OBCL2 cuz if Im not mistaken that it was an independent release. Wu Massacre is on Def Jam. Regardless OBCL2 to date has sold 150 K on an indepenedent with no radio, video or commerical support just his fans who IMO supported his shit. It was the casual hip-hop fan and/or the suburbs who didnt buy it.

once again the so called real hip hop crowd doesn't support their so called real hip hop music for real though how the fuck in a recession you try to sell your fans a 25 minute cd

Actually I like a few tracks from the album, I may cop that

Mainstream Record sales is irrelevant to me, if it's good hip hop, it's good hip hop!

32 K is not a good look, especially for a group as legendary as the Wu, it shouldn't matter either way but that's just the way it is. Hip-Hop has high standards for its artists, especially since hip-hop's glory days of taking over the charts week after week. Those days are mostly gone now, and so are the days of Wu-Tang selling millions of copies.

Wu-Tang is still one of the greatest groups of all time, that's all that matters.

it was only 3 members. the leader of wu tang is dead. no promotion n doubt that they even cared if it got promoted that much they put that out souly for the wu tang fans. u think rae salty the OB4CL aint got plat? hell naw they kno that wen real hiphop fans hear the shit they gonna feel it.

Who cares??? I stop caring about album sales when Souja Boy went Plat, I only care about the quality. The album was aight, kinda short like a mixtape but still aight has some replay value.

Why don't you say that for all these "popular" rappers that are everywhere on the radio and TV. They're flopping too, doing the same numbers as the bum rappers y'all diss. Don't act like they aren't just because you see them everywhere. They ain't selling nothing either. So I don't know why you dissing Wu Tang for that?

Are these sales numbers just domestic? I think alot of people forget that WU has an international fan base.

He saying how you tried to make it seem like floppin on a MAJOR is the same as on an independent. A flop on a major is much worse.
