3 weeks ago my older brother and I were sittin, chilling and watching Wolf Blitzer on CNN...our younger brother and one of his friends (they're 18) walk in the room and ask "Why do ya'll watch the news everyday? Everytime ya'll are here (my dad's place) the news is always on"...we looked at them like they were the dumbest people on Earth and said "It's never cool to NOT know what's going on in the world around you. Stupid people are the first ones to get taken advantage of" and they just looked stuck like we had given them some great revelation about life

Man I watch the news everyday B about 2 hours worth honestly and you know it wasn't a revelation to them they were trying to figure out if you had insulted them or not.

Don't watch the news, but I do keep updated online through BBC, Aljazeera, Yahoo, CNN, MSNBC, etc.

As far as this...sure I'd date someone who protested against him. From what I'm reading, the people over there been suffering for a while under Mubarak. Shit is crazy over there. As far as my feelings on Egypt, I still consider Egypt Africa even though mainstream history and media does not because it is a country in the continent of Africa.

i gotta say if you have managed to go all this time and know NOTHING about what's going on in Egypt you're really closed off from the rest of the world

I watch Msnbc all day everyday and i have to admit that up until the riots i had no idea wat was going on in Egypt. The world is big yet economically small cuz watever happens in one country has a ripple effect in all the other countries. I dont think it makes someone closed off if they were ignorant to wat was going on over there b4 the riots. Unless u had some type of interest in Egypt who wud be really checking for them b4 this crisis.

I always seem to miss these outbursts.

And I dont defend Africans cuz I know they wouldnt defend me.

I'm anti-cracker. Not necessarily pro-African although there are cases where I give a fuck, this isnt one of them. But I am pro-black....but only cuz I am black.

Get it?

it's not that I consider them closed off if they didn't know before...but if you don't know NOW then yeah you're closed off...and to just not know about the world around you in general is not a good thing

G/S posters are not interested in real life world issues they would rather make repetitive threads about sex and any other pointless discussion about relationships that do numbers.

Some of them have never heard about Mubarak but they know every Gucci Mane song memorized.

Dude speaking some truth. Grown? lol
