I'm fairly sure I'd be able to guess an acceptable age range for anyone I meet but, like you said, you never know.

If they were a truly genuine and mature person and I saw no other reason to not be platonic friends, then I wouldn't cut off communication.

I think the thing is their can be negatives in relationship we get into no matter who it is.. but if you can mesh and mutually know what it is that's going on, whether be just sex, or sex and actually like the company then looking from the outside in, I wouldn't judge someone on it, say like yourself, if it's working for both of you, then I have no critical opinion on it.
