<<<<<<Couldnt care less how other people view one of my favorite albums

<<<<<<Considers both albums classic

<<<<<<Havent listened to Illmatic in years....listened to RD yesterday

I still trip off Jay's verses on Dead Presidents 1....Its all personal opinion. I can live w/ Illmatic being considered the better album, but that shyt dont move me, to this day, like Regrets...D'Evils...Bring It On....Not close.

His best verse on RD imo was on 'Bring It On'. Superb.

Disgusting. He blacked the fuk out.

Mannerisms of a young Bobby Deniro????? Who starts a verse like that!!?!?

He was just so nasty back then lol

The main reason why it hasnt been remade or talked about as an legit classic because the album is fuckin wack. Boring production, off beat flow, generic mid 90s mafioso big willie rap lyrics. Nobody was bumping the shit in 96. I cant name 1 person who bought that album besides myself in 1996. 99% of niggas didnt even know RD existed until 2001. No it will never get the same treatment. RD isnt a classic. Never was and never will be

Trolling is in top form today. HAHA.

Reasonable Doubt Is A Revisionist Classic....Hov's Best Album Yes But Not An Instant Classic..Nobody Was Bumpin RD When That Shit Dropped....Niggaz Didn't Know Who Jay-Z Was Til Vol.2

I don't know where you were living at, but in North Carolina, people were playing it. I was in college so maybe the dumb niggas weren't listening.

Both are classics in their own rights.....The older my mindframe becomes the more I appreciate Reasonable doubt over Illmatic

Illmatic was on some buddah head juvenile street poetry ish.."I blow a blunt with Medusa Give her shotguns in Hell from the spliff i lift then inhale"...Its mostly poetic imaginery

Reasonable Doubt was and still is one of the most inspirational records as far as the hustling spirit is concerned..if you ain't never stood on no corner trying to get that money in the rain then you prolly gonna say illmatic is rawer than RD..

Most ppl didn't fuck with RD because it was on another level..Ppl with business skills felt it tho...It had alot of real life concrete imaginery..Yeah it was inspired by Illmatic obviously, but it went to a place illmatic couldn't go

Its ashame Jay is a soulless dick in the booty sell out tom now

It Was A Regional Classic At Best (And Thats Being Generous).....4 Mics By The Source When It Dropped (When They Were A Credible Rag).....Nobody I Knew In The Chi Was Bumpin Aint No Nigga

classics shud b timeless...RD has aged very well so the argument that it wasnt popular back then is pointless...illmatic is the more iconic important and maybe better album but RD is more enjoyable to me...

no, because it would of gotten the same treatment by now.

Illmatic is a classic because it changed the soundscape of hip-hop and influenced a whole generation.

Reasonable Doubt is a great album, some will argue it's a classic and others will say its not..

you can tell when something is a classic, it's timeless, it always gets references/referenced, re-makes, comparisons, analytical breakdowns.. etc.

i like both respectively doe.

all these dam nas v. jay-z threadz..u niggaz be talkin in circles n shit..just agree to disagree..shit..

You know my intention wasn't for it to be that i was jut curious. I think RD was just looked as a another Mafioso-rap cd while Illmatic was genre changing cd. Huge difference. Not saying ILL is better than RD for that reason but Nas had perfect timing when he droped iLL. He blew his peers out of the water and forced eveyone to go back and evaluate their whole rhyme scheme lol. Only other MC that did that was Rakim
