Since nobody has given a reasonable answer yet

I'm just gonna say no they arent simply cause their body of work isnt remotely comparable to Jay & Nas

I see where you're going and maybe 10 years from now they will be.

But now, no.

lol damn calm down niggas its just a question. i dont mean as far as comparing styles. i mean are they going to be the front runners in hip hop moving forward im not comparing them to jay and nas. yes i know thats blasphemy....no need to get all over emotional.

wow... first page and niggas is calling emotions already... damn... so you just didn't want niggas to post in your thread, like at all if they disagreed huh?

i'll just lock this then since you obviously dont know how forums work.

i dont care if people disagree or not they entitled to they opinion. theyre 2 of my favs as well but u mention jay or nas and all hell breaks loose its a known fact. take it down a notch pimp. all tryin to lock people stuff up for no good reason. i wasnt askin if they compare to jay and nas, i was sayin do yall think they will take up the mantle of being the front runners of hip hop once jay and nas fade off into the sunset.

interesting...

kendrick lamar is so overrrated you would think hes nas and eminem combined with the swagger of jayz and 2pacs energy. wtf.

hes decent, he sounds like he has autism. hes not the second coming.

Kendrick is closer to Nas in alot of peoples minds, even tho some would give that to Lupe. I can see the Drake n Jay minus the singing n simping aspect of course. That leaves J Cole at ... J Cole.

At the end of the day you really cant compare Lebron Kevin Durant and Kobe to Michael and Magic. Even the older heads will say Michael was Len Bias ... But lets not get too deep into that.

Kendrick isnt anything like Nas

yeah i feel like hes kinda creating his own lane. i guess people like to say hes like nas just cuz hes lyrical. so where yall put big sean? personally ive never thought he lived up to what everyone hypes him to be. that new album was everywhere.

Jcole is a closer version of Kanye with better mc skills (nas/jay flow) but not as good of an artist/beatmaker with a touch of basketball added to his story and being a young father.

Big Sean is like a weaker and lighter version of Fabolous so basically Ma$e.

But at the end of the day thats just me forcing comparisons. Most of these guys are their own artists similar to many other before them only cuz the ones b4 them exist in the first place to be compared to.

I'm convinced now there's a disconnect between the ic and the streets maybe age has to do with it as well. According to the streets Drake, cole and Kendrick are the torch bearers for this generation of rappers like it or not similar to jay and nas and their generation. It's not the 90s anymore time to move on.
