I graduated from Dillard and have had no problems with employment.. I make a good living and I've been able to get into several grad schools and law schools. If I ever had kids, I'd send them to my alma mater with no reservations... the school has made many improvements in the yrs after I left.

Its cool..its really based on who you know..I'm a HBCU grad whose parents are as well...so Ive seen and experienced the positive things from that experience. On the other hand my brother isn't and def believes that the HBCU experience is "lesser". So its a perspective thing.

smh @ thinking a degree from Alabama>>>>>degree from Howard

True story fam, I was about to go to HU though but my parents were like "everyone in our fam has gone to HBCU, do something different," and I ended up at TU in Philly.

Whose gonna send their kid to that bullshit?

Gotta lot friends that graduated from there in the 90s and some older friends that graduated in the 80s...

Most are engineers, IT guys and some are making 6 figures now

Used to be a real solid engineering school for niggas in the south and its sad to see what it has become recently....

I need to ask a few of my homeboys what the fuck has happened to Alabama state

Present day students at HBCUs in NC seem to try their hardest to make the place as ratchet as possible.

I went to pick my friend up from St. Aug and there were some BBW's in the "courtyard" twerking in bikinis...he got in the car...sighed...then said "I wish you hadn't seen that" lmao

right... because there aint no big white bitches at PWI's sucking dick on the lawn of some sorority house...

This is what my friends who went to HBCUs and then did grad school at PWIs tell me...

They say the connects you make at HBCUs are for life while the connects you make with blacks at PWIs seem to be only for the duration of your school career.

Do only black people get to go there or is it also a place for under achieving whites to go when the real colleges reject them?

Majority of HBCU's have a rep for letting any-fucking-body in. I live in NC where we have a bunch of HBCU's like St. Aug, Shaw U, NC Central, NC A&T, Fayetville St, etc. St. Aug & Shaw are private so they can determine who they let in (and they ain't turning down any money) & Central & Fayetville St are basically 13th grade. I know a bunch of niggas who were C-/C students (2.0-2.5 GPA) that got into those schools. Shit, 1 of my homeboys got into Fayetville St & that nigga had to go to summer school twice in high school just to pass his grade.

i remember researching schools my senior year and St. Aug's average high school gpa was like 2.0, might have even been lower.
