Great thread t/s. Alotta niggas on here just don't like reality so they create their own through the Internet. Niggas on here who get up and go to work everyday to a REAL job know how disconnected this forum is from reality. I think the biggest divide here is between "wanna be" rappers still tryin to be signed and ppl who are just fans of the artform.

Exactly, only on the IC would a rapper's ability to reach the mainstream be held against them. I can never take someone seriously when they claim the only reason they don't like someone as a rapper is because they don't like the rapper's fans (A couple of people actually posted this in an Eminem thread).

You know what someone actually said? Eminem lived in a Trailor yet i showed evidence of him living in the hood in Inner City Detroit in a house on 7 Mile Road yet this was convenientley ignored

I don't like Jay Z but i have no interest in trying to get others not to like him on an internet message board

The reasons i do not like Jay Z are simple i can not relate to his content about selling cocaine or having luxery materalistic items

Jay Z has no Melody/Harmony in his Music while i prefer Artists who Sing and have a Melodic Flow

I think his catalouge hasn't got reply value based on his content being too one dimensional and i don't think he is a Lyricist but i admit he has made good Song's like Meet The Parents

I also don't like his voice too much i will say the same about Jadakiss his voice is bad too however i would rather listen to Jadakiss than Jay Z cos Jadakiss i think is Lyrically better even though they have similar content

Those are valid reasons for me not liking Jay Z it's not hate it's just me judging his Album's

Yeh but why do Jay Z or Nas fan's on this message board get a pass? when people critisize them just for their poor Album's or poor Song's or bad material period no one says anything to Jay Z or Nas fans when they moan about their fave Rappers getting critisized by most people on the IC for lets say lackluster Album's like Streets Disciple, Nastradamus, Hip-Hop Is Dead, Volume 2, Volume 3, The Dynasty, Blueprint 2, Kingdome Come, Blueprint 3

If someone says Jay Z lacks emotion or a personal message in the majority of his Music rather than cry why not respect others opinion everyone is entitled to opinion based on hearing the Music

The divide Lies in the fact you have 2 main contingents of poster those that are fans of Rap Music and those that work in with through hiphop. The rationales of these seperate groups is clearly shown in many things and even they are divded amongst themselve but still that is the biggest seperating factor...
