Joseph was is step/foster father if anything, so josephs' genealogy had nothing to do with the begatting (if thats a word) of jesus.. So why not use marys' genealogy?
Because Yeshua is his physical son. The Israelite concept of sonship was broader than just genetics and the term for "virgin" did not mean a woman who never had sex.

the Most High made an oath with David that the seed of Christ would come from his loins (2 samuel
7:12-13 & Psalms 132:11), so Christ had to come from the seed of David (Romans 1:3)
which we all know that Joseph is of the lineage of David (Luke 2:4-5)
the lineage of David starts in Matthew 1:1-16)
this also why Revelations 22:16 reads

when you say jew"ish" tradition are you speaking of the edomites seed of esau or the true Jews of Israel which is the 4th son to Jacob?

that's why if a true Jew (which are a black people) has multiple kids with women of opposite nations those kids are considered Jews.
& vice versa if an Israelite woman has a kid by a Russian no matter the skin tone of the child that child is russian.
The man is the carry of the seed_& all of his kids are whole siblings no matter how many different woman he may impregnate.
siblings are considered half siblings if the mother has kids by two or more different fathers.
