Why Is It That Talib Kweli Never Gets Credit For His Flow?

He puts too many syllables into his bars, ultimately leading to inconsistent cadence when spitting

Just listen to his verse in respiration

The way he says "the beats crept"

or how he delivers the line "Thoughts that people put in the air"

The pace of his bars is not consistent like Mos Def's

Hia original flow wasn't that good but it was unique for his style. When he switched it up he sounds much better and not as jumbled or rushed.

Talib doesn't get enough credit for what he does in general though.

By himself his flow works, but when you have him on tracks with someone like Mos, it just sounds awkward. Still think Talib is one of the GOATs though

His flow isn't his strongest aspect. It's noticeable on tracks with Mos Def who's like top 3 GOAT flow. Sometimes Kweli does lock in and ride the beat perfectly which makes me think "why don't you do this all the time."

He still easily one of the greatest of all time though and top 10 in my book, but it ain't because of his flow. I saw Kweli and Rakim on stage last weekend trading vereus over Paid in Full and Don't Sweat the Technique. Shit was crazy

how can people rubbish Kweli for his flow. It is nice to me. Listen to twice in a lifetime. He spazzes out on that song flow wise and lyrically. People on here a thread a year about his flow but not about how much of an incredible lyricist he is or how consistent he is with his albums

Perfect.

I like Talib's music, his flow was always the one issue i had with him. But its not so bad that i cant enjoy his music.

I hate when rappers have terrible flows, it's like they lay the verse down without a beat and then put the beat with their verses afterwards....I can not stand that shit.

Good rapper

His flower was pubertal

It never satisfied

I think it's the sound of his voice too

A little annoying

Young MC had a better flow
