WOW! Really? You seriously think they just lift weights and "fuck up" people? Really? If anything that's what boxing is with a side of stamina. Fuck man lol UFC is wayyyy tougher than boxing. They don't just dance around and jab, they grapple, they have jiu jitsu, kick boxing, wrestling, mui thai etc etc the list goes on. It is called, MIXED MARTIAL ARTS and they have WAYYYY more discipline than boxing. I can't believe you said "JUST lift weights and fuck up people" wow at that. You have no idea what you're talking about.

And to the T/S, you need to brush up on shit before speaking dude. There are legends, YOU just don't know 'em. Theres more than just BJ Penn or GSP, or Anderson Silva. Go back into the start of the sport, the Gracies man. Randy Couture? No? Mark Coleman? No? Didn't you just hear of UFC 109? How about Chuck Liddell? There are legends man lol boxing is so heavy with 'em because it's been around forever and the UFC was almost an underground type sport. It was too violent, now that it's big the legends are getting out there. GOD don't let Joe Rogan know ANYONE is saying this shit lol he would go APE shit on this thread lmao

Had to bring back this classic, Joe Rogan is the man!!!

But Being a master of one style IMO is better than being a jack of all trades...you can technically do some of the things in boxing in mma...but not with the same skill and proficency...just like a Judo player is going to be better at judo than an mma fighter...i think thats all he was trying to say...yeah it takes some skill to learn a few techniques in a few different martial arts which is essentially what mma is...u learn a lil bit of this and a lil bit of that...but u rarely master anything.

I'm guessing you don't watch much MMA or you would know that most fighters come from a one sport background, scholastic wrestling for example, and then either evolved with the sport or fell by the wayside. Look at who dominates the sport now, Fedor Emelianenko, Shogun, Machida, Anderson Silva, GSP, B.J. Penn are all fighters that are well rounded. You can have your opinion but it was pretty much proven wrong over the last 17 years.

Lmao...gtfoh...George Foreman was a freak of nature...Big George was losing that fight big time...he had been out boxed the entire fight and he caught Mike Moorer clean and hard...happens doesnt mean he was winning cuz he wasnt...but if u have one punch KO power u always have a chance...and he got his chance in the 10th cuz MM got careless...so GTFOH...everyone knows Brock Lesnar is a NCAA champion in wrestling...Brock uses his size and brute strength to win his fights...wrestling is a sport where being strong can get u far with okay technique and minimal skill....i guess U dont remember Brock getting caught by Mir in a kneebar because of sloppy technique...or Ali using skill and technique to nullify Big George's size and strength advantage??? cuz clearly that didnt happen right...an leave the namecalling out we're grown in here...I fought as an amature boxer and i'm currently a semi-pro MMA fighter and I smash guys way bigger and stronger than me simply because they think they can out muscle me or whatever...u cant take george or brock and use them as examples simply because they are as examples that i can use to prove my point...so try again

Not at college D-1 level. You need to learn about title 9 or something cause you're getting pwned by a Rampage fan in here and Rampage fucking sucks.

You can beat around the bush if you want to, but he's a stand-up fighter and I don't think any1'll disagree. His only grappling was basically doing sprawls to avoid a takedown. So the only "grappling" he did was to avoid grappling. Submissions are boring man, and that's not how people wanna see a fight end 99% of the time. I haven't seen many top 10 submission hi-lights.

He used takedowns to beat Wanderlei, clinchwork against Couture, ground game in his first loss to Rampage off the top of my head. Standing and swinging hands with everyone is why he has been ko'd and beaten so much the past couple years. Highlight KO's by Shogun and Rashad.

Haha, I wouldn't say Rampage sucks, actually yes he sucks coming off long layoffs (which worries me about the Rashad fight) and not learning to check leg kicks which drives me nuts but he became my favorite fighter during the Pride days (even though he got his ass kicked alot, but he's 5-1 in his UFC run) so I'mma stay with my fighter. But it's refreshing to see some educated MMA opinions like yours on this board. Props.

Yeah he's been popping up in shitty movies all over. I'm a big Shogun fan and Rampage made him look great.

There was BARELY any grappling in the Wanderlei fight. They were on the ground less than a minute throughout the entire fight, and nothing was done down there. I don't really consider clinching grappling too much if ur doing it to do dirty boxing. And I don't really remember the rampage fight in Pride except Chuck laying on the ground with Rampage on him beatin the shit out of his ribs...it was a sad sight.

But my point earlier wasn't that Chuck CAN'T grapple. It's that he chooses not to a majority of the time and prefers stand-up fights. Standing and swinging with everyone is what got him where he is too. Has one submission win 10-11 years ago. He's gettin KO'd cuz his boxing skills were never anything special, and now it's catchin up to him cuz he's fightin people that can throw hands.

You obviously didn't see the D'arce Choke Paulo Thiago passed out Mike Swick with at UFC 109.

Naw, but I'll give it a look.

K. I went back and watched it. That was a cool submission. It's always more entertaining when you see something that's less common (no triangle chokes, armbars, etc.). The submission was good, BUT you gotta acknowledge that it was setup by a punch that dropped the dude, which allowed him to almost immediately get the submission in. There wasn't a long period of time where they're both laying there doing nuthing. So that fight was almost a mixture of a KO and submission fight. Good fight, and good submission tho.
