It depends.....dissing artist that have a lot of buzz at the time can either backfire or work. Look at Freddie Gibbs...dude doesn't know when to shut the fuck up. Hes new to the game and he already dissed Wale, Big Sean, Lil B, Wiz Khalifia, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross and MMG..................and Drake. Legit disses too, he actually went in all of the guys I mentioned. In this case, he basically blackballed himself from the industry. A lot of the shit he said was true but saying it didn't get him anywhere. He burned a lot of bridges in one interview lol...That's what you get with new artists...rebellious niggas that don't know any better.

artist that are new to the game look at Drake as competition and are probably more likely to get at him where as veteran rappers are pass that stage in their careers. They don't look at drake and see competition, they look at him and see all the possible hits they can make working with him.

^^ Quality post.

I remember when Beani Sigel called Drake a bitch and said he was gonna slap him, I thought to myself damn dog he aint even built like that for you to call him out but you just lost an opportunity to build bridges with the hottest team in the game who might have asked you to open for them when they come to Philly.......

I think a wise business man would be better served by building alliances instead of putting up barriers.

Yeah, you're right... look at Curren$y..hes a young artist that obviously knows about the game and how to handle shit. Things between him and Cash Money didnt work out but I never heard him get at Lil Wayne or Birdman and the outcome of that is positive:

Years later, Wayne shows up at his Jet Life tour...no bridges were burned.

Yep Curren$y took the high-road while Gillie acted a fool, now look were Gillie is at.

Man, being associated with Wayne is a ++, you cant lose because he has a cult following and a heavy buzz right now.

I'm pretty sure Method Man and Wu Tang will be able to tour longer than Jay Z when both decide to hang up the mic...Wu and Method ahve a stronger fan base...Jay z...though he nice on the mic and will be a Legend if not already is more of a at the moment rapper.....how many cats still lsiten to the Dynasty album...Hard Knock Life 2 album....Kingdom Come album....not many.....You notice how method man is STILL touring without having any recent 'hits'.......his catalogue speaks for itself

I still do
