if Earl woulda died he would be ranked higher

i think dmx's content and image overshadow his skills though.,

making it seem like his jus a violent, angry, barking ass nigga when in fact

dude is/was skilled lyrically

after "Flesh of my flesh...", everything else been garbage....X got a piss-poor catalog, that's why he isn't mentioned among the names listed.

Now if we're talking about rappers that don't bite their tongue for no one, X is the GOAT

Really? What kind of obvious question is this? It's because he's not relevant anymore and hasn't been in forever. No one is checking for him.

Nas just released his 10th album in LIG and had multiple features on dude's albums and JayZ just released WTT which did well on the charts.

Before that Nas released Distant Relatives which did extremely well on the Reggae charts and Jay release BP3 which did well on the charts as well.

Then before that Nas released a political masterpiece in Untitled which was getting press from all over the U.S due to the controversy of the title of the album, and Jay released one of his better albums in AG.

All of this shit happened in the last 5 years in which DMX has done NOTHING.

... Pac and Biggie died in their commercial primes, so they will basically live on forever.

He is. When I discuss top all time MCs DMX comes up before Big Pun or Big L. He's on a tier just below Scarface & Ice Cube. He's easily top 10 to me.

X changed the game and crushed the buildings on that "shiny suit" shit that was going on. What 50 did in the early 2000s, what Jeezy did a few years ago, X had done in the late 90s.

Cuz he was an average rapper who dropped 1 good album 14 years ago and then fell the fucc off

b/c his music doesn't match up. He has 1 good album one average album and the rest of his catalog is garbage.

Better question.....why would dmx get mentioned in the same breath as any rap legend? I'm definitely not seeing what some people are seeing. Dude was above average at best.

His lyrics weren't that great...made good songs but so did fabulous....you need to have memorable lyrics to be remembered over time...not just good songs

X was never that good lyrically.it was all about his voice, delivery, and personality.

I was never wowed by X lyrically.

X was doper before he took on the Pac/Snoop persona.

he's still one of the biggest personalities in hip hop.
