The city taxes are ridiculous for the types of homes in the city. They're all older houses that have their prices inflated just because they're in this particular city. Instead, I moved the fam to a upper middle-class suburb that has a nationally ranked school system, is predominantly white atm, but still has a growing percentage of educated/working-class black and brown people moving in at a steady rate.

This seemed like the better option of the two when I was presented with the choice. The city I was raised in is fucked up now, but it was diverse when I was there, and it helped tremendously to be able to have interactions with all sorts of people. I wanted my son to be afforded that same opportunity.

But what about the one drop rule? Half-black children faced as much racism as full black so having mixed children would not help 'phase out' blacks if u are a white person.

Black people worry too much about irrelevant stuff. This is a predominant white country so the chances of interracial relations are high especially when going off to college or when you reach a higher class society. Personally I want my kids to be with someone who have the same mind set as they do regardless of race. I seen all too often successful black people being held back by a garbage spouse just because they refuse to look outside their race or community for someone who is compatible. Interracial does not just mean black and white fyi.

The vast majority of sistahs out here are still looking for a black man to marry. The vast majority of brothas out here are still looking for a black woman to marry. If you find true love and it happens to be outside the race...all the more power to you. Just make sure your kids know they're black. Don't let it be forgotten where you came from and what your ancestors fought for. As I mentioned before...my main problem is the slander of the race...because young people hear the slander and assume it's true. Young girls assume a white dude will take better care of her...only to find out white men will dog their wives out just as bad...white women generally just tend to accept and put up with more shit. Young boys will assume a white woman will treat them better, give them less issues...not realizing that the confrontational demeanor they attach to black women (which is not always accurate) and are hoping to escape is at the very least a demeanor of love and hope. Hope that you can reach the potential in a man they see in you. A woman of a different culture might not be as confrontational...they might watch you fuck up your life and then leave...

Interracial dating is far from a problem as long as there is respect for both cultures from both sides...the problem lies in lust for a specific culture due to certain features that are assumed to be true to that culture (ex: black girls have more ass, white men have more power, black men have bigger dicks, white women act more submission)...thoughts such as those are not representative of a relationship that is built on love or respect. As long as the person you meet respects you, your family, your heritage, and the struggle/stereotypes your future children will experience from both cultural standpoints...you've met someone worthy of being an in-law in your family tree.
