LOL @ L3NU. I understand that. Most niggas that age don't rap about that, unless they talking about what they used to do. Hell, I still smoke blunts, check the screen name. I know what you saying tho.

@ king hassan, that's what's up homie. When you 19, 25 seems old. The point is most all genres celebrate older cats and sell out stadiums. In rap, we clown older niggas. It's crazy!! Rap needs balance, older and younger cats both have a place in this game. I love hip hop! I can listen to Drake and then I can put in Pac or Common.

Real life ages and rap ages aren't the same thing. Just like real life ages vs. basketball ages. 35 is young in real life, old as fuck in the NBA. Any nigga 35+ in the rap game, I consider old. But the thing is...there ain't nothing wrong with that. To me, the best niggas doing it are 30+. I can honestly say that I'm not a FAN of ANY rapper that's under about 25 or 26 that I can think of and my FAVORITE rappers are all 30+.

Im late 30's and I dont really care what "young cats" think. they are still in there mammas house, just barely outta there, college student scrimping buy or on the street trying to slang a few rocks. Best of luck to young dudes and all but THEY ARE NOT MY PEERS. so why should i be concerned what some youngsters think! they aint lived long enough to have a frame of reference. they the kids that be saying stuff like KOBE BETTER THAN JORDAN?? and they was like 5 when Jordan retired and never seen him play..

they the dudes will say Drake or Big Sean is the greatest thing they ever seen. too young and too ignorant to even know the significance of Rakim, Kool G Rap, Big Daddy Kane.

let them young bucks grow a lot of there heroes are here today gone tommorow ni99as. the pioneers that i love (no homo) there names will live forever as legends!

The average age on the I.C. is 12-16 so there's going to be a lot of Willie-Lynch.

There is a market for what I call adult-contemporary HipHop which is more mature and adult oriented compared to LiL B & Soulja-boy,..........

JayZ, Kanye, Rozay, Cube, Common, Mos Def, Kweli, Devin, Jadakiss, all have mature content that's free from skinny-jeans and glitter-Mohawks.

All the great rappers are 30+ so being old in HipHop just means you are have a 99% chance of being better than the rappers under 30.

A lot of people knock old rappers cause rap is not really a old art forum yet. It's 40 years old. And a lot of these dudes are 40 years old. A lot of people have not let Rap mature. We have 40 year old men rapping about the club and gangsta stuff. And hopefully that changes. I think a lot of people clown older rappers cause they seem like caricatures, instead of men at midlife making music.

Yo straight up when these young kats call me old head i laugh, these lil niggas dont know shit ABOUT HIP-HOP that's why i be schoolin them. Niggas on here talk about Big sean album when instead they should be digesting Celp Ttitled and Buckwild Nineteen 90 now or Roc Marciano Marcberg. That's why i will cop a De la Soul new album before any new jack. Common, Cube. Nas, Wu-Tng, MC Eight, Goodie Mob i still copping and when Kane drop i will be there to cop it 2

I'm glad the old heads still around. Most of these young boys are bums even the ones people want to claim are lyrical. Lyricism has become a bunch of corny punchlines instead of raw lyricism with the exception of a few. The raw spittas and old heads need to stay just to punish you boys from time to time

The reason why some of the new jack albums suck is because they dont have no respect or love for the culture, as a youngsta i was schooled by the older heads. my cousins was breakin dancin and listening to Run DMC, Funky four plus1, Whodini, Slick Rick, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious 5, b-boyin to Planet Rock. as a shorty i was schooled, they took me to go watch Krush Groovin, Beat Street (i got hyped when Crazy Legs was in the subway and told dude "WHO WANNA CATCH WRECK") Rappin and Breakin 1 and 2.

I got my ass whip couple of times for scratchin my dad records up, fuckin up his Gap Band, The Time, Rick James albums. I remember when you wanted to be a DJ, Graf Artist or B-boy before you wanted to be an emcee.

Why can rockers go till there 50-60s but rappers are past it wen they hit 40

the rap market has a short attention. I was listening to the radio the other day and they do a BACK IN THE DAY old school jam throwback thing and they played ITS GOIN DOWN by Young Joc.. im late WAIT... that was 2006 just 5 years ago?? are you fuckin serious!!

thats the shelf life!! and yeah you acts like the Rolling Stones, Tina Turner, The Who, AC/DC, KISS all in there 60's still on tour and selling out stadiums. the people that liked them back in the day kept on liking them to make themselves feel young and remember the memories of better days, they passed it on to there kids born in the 80's and now they will pass it on to there kids. groups like the Grateful Dead be having 3 GENERATIONS in the same family attend there shows. You dont have no shyt like that in hip hop. It consumes whats hot this summer and then moves and forgets you real quick!!

Next Year Represents the 25th year of the release of PAID IN FULL by Eric B and Rakim. but in hip hop years it might as well be 100 years old!!
