The question is simply a debate over semantics - so whatever you're definition of racism is, determines your answer for the aforementioned question.
Both sides can make an argument about the definition of racism that is accepted in academic circles. So this isn't a cut and dry debate because when discussing 'race' there's virtually always an arbitrary element attached.
You're not paying close attention. The definition about racism many use to deny that blacks can be racist has two components: prejudice and power. One response to an argument relying on this is something I said on the first page: Blacks, in some situations and contexts, do have power. So even going by this definition (which I don't actually accept) blacks can be racist.
You're talking about the fringe elements that have no bearing on the whole, and in those instances, they're simply that; fringe elements. They are the exception, and not of the normal variety. How you're using the exception to apply to a well-documented generalization is fruitless. And the fact that no one has called you and @Stiff out on this bullshit is crazy.
White people have never been oppressed by anyone other than other white people. How many white people will be denied jobs because of their names? How many innocent white children will be gunned down by the police because they're white?
And even if by chance these things somehow occur, they are literally a "one drop in an ocean annually" occurrence.
If you are basing your argument on these premises, then you have no argument.
If someone's theory is that blacks can't be racist, then even one black racist fatally undermines that theory. That's just the way it is.
Clearly, given since blacks have little power compared to whites, racism on the part of blacks (on this theory, which, again, I don't accept) is relatively marginal compared to racism on the part of whites. I don't need to claim more than that to show that this argument doesn't work.
