Thats true. I do dislike when its say someone killed hip-hop especially when these rappers have never embodied it to begin with to kill it, its more like its being drowned out since its in the same category of the all the dumb stuff.

If what I listen to the most is keeping me ignorant and making my life no better then I can imagine it cant be all that good. I'm just passionate on my views. but there is no such thing as real hip hop and fake hip hop, just good music and bad music and even then that shit is subjective and we have to deal with the fact that the standards are now lowered. emcees dont have to have any real skills just as long as they are charismatic, have "swag", have some sort of past background, or is a walking gimmick and has a decent enough flow/delivery, and they get top notch beats you will more than likely have a career.

making my music life easier.i keep it simple, there is real hip hop music, rap music, hip hop pop music, rap pop music, & mixtape music. I prefer real hip hop music, mixtape music & rap music. I don't watch t.v because to much bullshit on anyways. Don't listen to the radio because they play the same corny shit over n over. I rather pay attention to kats that might actually matter for future hip hop real talk music. Lupe fiasco is an example. Kanye is real hip hop pop music. Everyone is entitled to their opinion...but at the end of the day, some make music to take away the white mans money & make it rain on some hoes & some value respect over money like mos def, & just love making music that they love. You either make music u love or music for money. Either way its music for all types of people. I do music i love, either you like it or not, respecting someone for the music they make to me defines me as a better person then just making music for money. At the same time i do respect rappers, maybe not for their music but how they give back to the community. Peace.

I'm years ahead on this. My TV watching is very very very limited but its not about that its about knowing real vs fake and I'm starting to believe when it comes to hip hop people have gotten so wrapped up in what they are being fed they cant even tell anymore what the real stuff is. Hip-hop is defined to me about authenticity and many of these "RAPPERS" who claim it dont have a ounce of this trait . They more like actors. Yeah, I'm gonna start calling them "actors" instead, makes it more clear because they throwing the term hip-hop and rap around so loosely.
