I think a rapper or a song can be wack but still enjoyable. I said this in another thread.

I actually liked this track back in '05 and bumped it alot but basically this tracki is one long hook. Gucci isn't really rapping on this track, but I liked it when it dropped...

I need a clear and precise reason as to why this is not lyrical, while keepin in mind conscious black power shit does not equal lyricism

Not sayin it is lyrical, just need you to break down why it isn't

This track was like one long hook. Gucci was talking throughout most of this track instead of rapping. While I like it, this track is largely carried by the beat.

Who's talking about "conscious black power sh*t" or equating it with being lyrical?

These niggas trying to rewrite the rules on emcees. You can enjoy the wack shit all y'all want but please don't sit there and say that being wack is okay just as long as the beat is banging.

That was horrible. I really don't understand how and why Gucci has a career, but I digress. That song isn't lyrical because the simple ass lyrics, the metaphors, and because of Gucci's barely existent flow. That shit has the lyrical complexity of:

If you're lyrical ability is on par with nursery rhymes and Dr. Seuss, then you shouldn't be rapping.

but bruh u just described the majority of bay area and other california artists in the 2000's with the exception of TDE

T-Rock will wreck Mac Dre to an oblivion

That aint told me shit, if yo passion for intricate lyrics bleeds so deep, sir, then please break it down more precisely, that song isnt lyrical becaue it has simple ass lyrics, wtf does that even mean?

Nigga, you serious. Y'all are fucking hopeless. It's obvious unless some secondary source has to you to like an artist, you can't formulate a intelligent opinion on what good music is.

But to them that's all that matters. A rapper can mumble and slur all over a track spitting wack simple a*s lines as long as the beat is banging and they rap about drugs or black on black violence. Like I said before, regression...
