Ive said this in the past and i'll say it again: lets be real, niggas sag because its a shorthand way of expressing that they are a "swagged out reckless nigga who DGAF".

Whether niggas realize that or are even able to convey that in words, thats why they do it. Just as wearing fashionable suits that are very fitted/tailored is a shorthand way for a man to express that he is someone who is savvy on wearing his clothing in a style that is appreciated in many aspects of life and gives off an aura of sophistication, power, and wealth.

I have a problem with the sagging mindstate because its indicative of the problem many Black men have...That we are content with living recklessly and care all about style with no regard or intent to move outside of our respective boxes. And just look at how many niggas sag, at what age they start, and HOW LONG niggas sag....shit is literally a microcosm of the mindstate.

Okay yeah, "society is racist, you'll always be a nigger, white people will never accept you no matter how you dress..." thats all fine and true. Irregardless, it does us no good to sit here and accept our "moral victory" by refusing to conform to "White/Western standards", yet still be marginalized, poor, uneducated (yes even choosing how you DRESS is that indicative of mindstate) and be completely uncompetitive in the job or skills market.

I say that to say this: The fucking Jews, Muslims, Indians, East Asians, and Africans are all able to do make their money and attain power in society AND hold on to their cultural identities. Why? among other things, because they know when to fucking assimilate when it matters AND they know what remnants of their culture are actually worth fighting for/standing by.

And my post is from someone who used and still does from time to time..even when I did it at least I knew what i looked like...some folks will try to argue it don't look sloppy when it clearly does...when I did it I simply didn't give a fuck...depending on the day I still may sag a little if I just run out the house for a minute or two because I still give no fucks...but I also am well aware of the perception it creates and i accept what comes with it and that's the difference.
