Why do black people like the Sopranos?

sopranos is a great show. entertaining. but its like a sitcom to me. there's no point in time when i was watching where i actually caught irl feelings like i did on the wire. all the characters in the sopranos are to a large extent very one sided and this makes it difficult to relate with them. take janice for example. she has no purpose whatsoever .... she just keeps popping up over and over again for no reason. or even carmela. how she's married to tony yet is still a devout catholic .. foh

the wire had its fair share of bullshit story arcs and cardboard characters, but not to the extent sopranos did. when d'angelo got clapped i was shook. when wallace got clapped by bodie, i damn near cried

if you wanna bicker like a little kid then do so .. but if you want to have an intelligent, mature discussion at least give us info to back up your claims.

When they clapped Pussy that was some real life shit.... Tony stranglin dude in season 1 who was a snitch while meadow was looking at colleges or somethin was GOAT as well... i loved the show but it lost some of its greatness towards the end. right around the time Tony gets capped by Unc Junior

ive slept on the Wire so i cant compare the 2 tho my girl and I have been wanting to watch it on demand.

Tony was shot in the head by the Members Only jacket boul walking out of the bathroom that was located at Tony's.........wait for it...............THREE O'CLOCK. The entire scene is set-up to show you Tony's point-of-view. The point-of-view then cuts to black bcuz dat point-of-view just got CLAPPED. The show creator even said he originally wanted to have no credits and just the black screen all they way until the HBO logo. Ppl still trying to argue that Tony didn't die are stupid assholes that can't read between the lines, don't listen to them, they're worse than creationists and conspiracy heads lol.

if you look at the original post i made its about how they talk....the broken sentences. just because your in the criminal world doesnt mean your stupid. all other criminals speak clear well put together sentences. except the asian...but thats because hes..uhh asian. so, two black ppl out of the whole show can speak a whole sentence without sounding like they dropped out in the sixth grade? i understand them being criminals.....but i cant have my opinion.

lol @ me caping just because I think your complaints are stupid. And go look at Youtube and WSHH and watch the videos with the hood cats and tell me that the portrayal of the typical black hood/criminal as were most blacks featured in the Sopranos is off the mark.

Well, I've watched both shows many times, and to me The Sopranos is the overall superior show. Someone earlier said about The Wire being more realistic than the Sopranos. That whole serial killer plot was ass. Both shows were amazing tho, both had STRONG writing and interesting characters. I do notice tho that most niggas do prefer the shows or movie that's more "hood", or has more action in it. Dope, gang murder, money and hood Shit? You know niggas eating that up. And the racial aspect, both shows had their fair share of it. It is well known that most mafia members don't care for anyone outside of their race, and we know how niggas are.

But, like I said, both are excellent.

People think Sopranos is boring mostly because they watched it here and there and maybe stumbled upon one of the scenes when Tony is in Dr Melfi's office.

Man fuck that Wire is boring, there I said it.

Its 10 times as boring as Sopranos (for those claiming Sopranos is "boring" but yet they admit to not having watched it completely).

Season 5 especially that Mayoral shit and the Carcetti shit, was a fucken cure for insomnia.

Actually I used to watch the Sopranos because nothing else was on at a certain time and it bored me. I actually like the Tony character,but Sopranos is not as practical as the Wire.Living in Baltimore more the Wire captures the hood life over here perfectly. Of course you are going to have some things added just for dramatic and entertainment effect, but it is more realistic than the Sopranos who just uses caricatures of stereo typical Italians that has become popular in mainstream America.
