Im'ma leave with some food for though. It funny how enraged Pac's Thug Angels got when I compared 50 to their idol. I wonder why? Lets look at this for a second.

50 signed with the biggest entity around (Eminem) and became a megastar

Pac signed with the biggest entity around (Death Row) and became a megastar

50's biggest single was produced by Dr.Dre (In the Club)

Pac's biggest single was produced by Dr. Dre (California Love)

50 was in a high profile beef (vs. Ja)

Pac was involved in a high profile beef (vs. Big)

50 made it known often he got shot anf fans loved it (Shell hit my tooth/I ain't wait for doc to get it out)

Pac made it known often he got shot and fans loved it (They wonder how I lived with 5 shots)

50's image of getting shot and selling drugs helped catapult his fame

Pacs image of getting shot and going to jail helped catapult his fame

Coincidence?????????

1.your comparing a artist to a record label....really?

2.true but keep ya head up,dear mama is what put 2pac in the charts

3.50 vs Ja and 2pac vs BIG .....really? JayZ vs Nas was a way higher profile beef than ja and 50 niqqa

4.Pac had fame before he went to jail

50 Cent's career is at its lowest

2pac's dead but his fame and legacy is higher and more known each year

your comparison is vague

and not that it matters but 2pac is in E-40,Jay-Z,Game,J-Cole,Nas, hell almost every rapper in the game's top 5

When you sign into the forums do you search "50"? Because I swear whenever his name is mentioned, you're there...saying stupid shit about him

I don't think I've ever seen you say some shit that wasn't somehow related to 50

Actually I didn't. I provided Pacs number before jail release, Death Row/Dre and holding down a whole coast during the biggest battle of all time. You made up shit like me saying Pac never did 5 mil in 3 months (Im still waiting for you to link my words stating that) and a bunch of other random bullshit. You backpeddled saying Pac sold of classic music, then you flip-flop into "tons of musicians used controversy". Bottom line, you're a delusional Pac groupie who can't maintain a stance. It's ok, Eminem has a ton of groupies just like you....

Back in 1995, not many people cared or listened to Hip Hop like they do now. It was not the biggest genre of music. 5 mil people werent keeping up with Pac's life, they could careless about Deathrow or whatever you believe was relevant. He dropped two classic singles back to back, which were club friendly anthems and a classic diss record...thats how he did 5 mil.....The Impact of California Luv was huge, it was one of the biggest songs of that year, How Do You Want It was also a smash, then on the B SIDE people heard Hit'em Up and went crazy. The hip hop scene was not like it is now, hip hop ain't get this kind of love, especially gangsta rap. Pac changed that though. You were obviously very young at the time or maybe not born (thats obvious), so you cant understand how shit worked back then.

name me 10 hip hop albums which did huge numbers and aint have no gimmick or controversy attached to them?

Jay z entire career is built on gimmicks, controversy

Kanye is the same

Em is the same

Even Nas jumped on the gimmick bandwagon

but at the end of the day it boils down to good music, if ur music is wack, no amount of gimmicks, controversy will help you shift records...

you can call me a pac rider or whatever, but i'm not a hater like you son, i give props where props is due...that album is in so many peoples top 10 because it's that damn good

So hip hop wasn't big in 1995? That's what you're saying, right? This right here confirms you have no damn idea what you're talking about. Lets look at the sales from 95 shall we;

BONE THUGS 'N HARMONY - E. 1999 Eternal : 4x platinum (6 million)
DANGEROUS MINDS (soundtrack) : 3x platinum
2PAC - Me Against The World : 2x platinum
L.L. COOL J - Mr. Smith : 2x platinum
FRIDAY (soundtrack) : 2x platinum
THA DOGG POUND - Dogg Food : 2x platinum
COOLIO - Gangsta's Paradise : 2x platinum
CYPRESS HILL - III (Temple Of Boom) : platinum
THE SHOW (soundtrack) : platinum
TOO SHORT - Cocktails : platinum
RAEKWON - OB4CL: 900k
GZA - Liquid Swords :700k
Mobb Deep - Infamous :Gold

Now, since hip hop wasn't as "big" as it is now, lets look at say, 2008

LIL WAYNE - Tha Carter III : 3,4 million
T.I. - Paper Trail : 2,1 million
KANYE WEST - 808s & Heartbreak : 1,6 million
YOUNG JEEZY - The Recession : 900k
RICK ROSS - Trilla : 750k
THE GAME - LAX : 700k
LUDACRIS - Theater Of The Mind : 650k
PLIES - Definition Of Real : 600k
NAS - Untitled : 450k
FLO RIDA - Mail On Sunday : 400k

2009

BLACK EYED PEAS - The E.N.D. : 2,5 million
EMINEM - Relapse : 1,9 million
JAY-Z - The Blueprint 3 : 1,7 million
50 CENT - Before I Self Destruct : 450k
DRAKE - So Far Gone : 450k
YOUNG MONEY - We Are Young Money : 450k
RICK ROSS - Deeper Than Rap : 400k
JADAKISS - The Last Kiss : 350k
KID CUDI - Man On The Moon : 350k
GUCCI MANE - The State Vs. Radric Davis : 350k

Now, you can argue downloading and Itunes, but that still does't negate how idiotic you sound. Many people consider 1995 to a part of Raps Golden Years. What I provided, was facts. You provided more subjective bullhit, combined with more flip-flopping. I mean how many times can you argue that Pac sold because of "classic music", then defend controversy and gimmicks, in the same damn post. Leave debating alone. It surely isn't your strong point.

firstly you need to learn how to read....

Hip Hop was not big in 95 like its is NOW....no point of bringing up current record sales because THE INTERNET and DOWNLOADS were not available back then

Yes the 90's are considered the Golden Era before Hip Hop became OVERLY COMMERCIAL and crossed over to a BIGGER MARKET

If you take away the internet and downloads than the current crop of rappers would be doing good numbers...

Look at that list you provided, notice every album (not sure why you included movie soundtracks) is considered a classic...but what you will also notice is the albums which sold the most had GREAT SINGLES ..."Crossroads", "Gangstas Paradise", "Hey Lover", "Keep Their Heads Ringin", "Doin It", "Loughin", "Dear Mamma"....

so which validates my point if you release GREAT SINGLES (SONGS) then youre album will do great numbers...California Luv, How U Do Want It, Hit'em Up, club classics, street classics, cross over appeal = 5 MILL
